Smiffys Men's Grim Reaper Plastic Scythe

In my opinion, this is a pretty good looking Grim Reaper Scythe.This item measures about 56-inches long (4-feet 8-inches), and it's also very easy to put together. It's made out of a pretty hard plastic, so it won't break easily, unless you're slamming it against the wall too hard. Overall, I like it. I did not expect much for a $10 plastic scythe. but this had a good amount of positive reviews, so I thought it would be a good base to improve upon for a costume.It was NOT.It was WAY more flimsy than I thought it would be, and the blade seemed shorter than the measurements posted as well. I can't help but wonder who it is supposed to be made for... It's too short for an adult, too tall for a child, and way too flimsy for both.Well I'm sure THIS will work for some people on a budget, I found it way more cost effective to build my own out of PVC pipe.

It’s as I expected, looks lovely, plastic but still good enough for a Halloween costume, I took the advice of one of the commenters here and I ordered two sets so I can make it go taller than I am a bit, I am glad I did mainly because one of the sets the top part was broken! I think it’s not sturdy enough to handle hits but I am glad I had the spare

I'm not sure how to rate this. It is flimsier than we expected (easily bends in length and also if the diameter is squeezed), but it is for a child's Halloween costume so I am really happy nobody can accidentally or on purpose get hurt with a stiff plastic. Just as shown, it breaks down and is easy to store. For the price, I didn't expect anything great quality. To be honest, I think this flimsier structure is better quality BECAUSE you can't hurt anybody with and looks great as a costume prop! I would probably rate this a 5 star because I am very pleased, but I think a 5 star would give readers the wrong impression of what you might expect vs. what is shipped to you.

Wanted to use it for a costume, but is better suited to a child, not an adult who is 6' tall. Height wasn't even the issue, that was as described. You get what you pay for. Scythe blade was too short for the length of the pole. The Pole wasn't sturdy enough to stand up straight. If you were old enough to remember, think of the javelin from the first Revenge of the Nerds film.

I hot thisnahead of schedule for halloween as it was a last minute order. It was nice to be able to add and remove pieces to fit in the car as the kids walked around then jumped in the car to cross busy streets. When walking in doors at an assisted living location we were able to have it full size. Now that Halloween is over, it was easy to take it apart and store it.I highly recommend this product!!!

Pretty good and works well for Halloween. I wouldn’t recommend using all the parts on the staff or else it will become somewhat bent and look overall disproportionate. I put it together only using four out of the six parts and it looks very good! I love that it can be taken apart, very easy for storage before and after Halloween.

Ugh. Flimsy junk you can buy at the Halloween Store. The staff wouldn’t even hold the weight of the sickle (you know what I mean) without bending. Son won’t even play with it it’s so cheaply made. Tried to return but it was an unregundable item. Ugh. Stay away from this

This is a fairly cheap, plasticky, light-weight scythe for a one-off halloween costume. It comes in sections which screw together and I'm sure will last one halloween in some form or other. It's isn't particularly rugged toy though. 5 minutes of enthusiastic swinging will have this thing in pieces. You can fix that by glueing sections of wood into the joints. In honesty most people will buy this, let their kids take it trick or treating once - then throw what's left of it in the bin. It wasn't expensive though. It's fine for what it is. If your kid wants a grim reaper costume, this would make a fine prop to go with it. Just don't expect it to last for years and years.

Looks absolutely fantastic, but within having it five minutes, LITERALLY. It snapped. Luckily its made of several different parts thats formed together manually, so it still served its purpose. Though you can get cheaper elsewhere, offline.But as said, it looks the part. Long, curved, and fits my reaper costume.

A very excited child dressed up in his Grim Reaper costume for Halloween. Then came the disappointment, scythe parts would not screw together just kept falling apart, very flimsy, very cheap plastic, in the end we gave up even with the use of Sellotape, it I just would not stay together, total rubbish and a very upset child.

Made of extruded plastic so was never going to be the sturdiest of things, once all screwed together it held up surprisingly well! Helps that it comes apart for storage.

Literally have had this in the house for 20 minutes and it's snapped! I'll have to shorten it by taking the snapped price out and am shocked at how flimsy it was. Tip: DO NOT ALLOW CHILD ANYWHERE NEAR IT UNTIL HALLOWEEN NIGHT!!
