Pebble Pets: 50 animal rock art projects

This is a nice little book for beginners to get their teeth into and even better if you are a bit artistic. For me, whilst I can be artistic sometimes when it comes to photography, I am not particularly artistic when it comes to drawing or painting, but I would like to be, I saw this book for £3.99 and thought it was worth a punt and I wasn't disappointed. There are plenty of easy to read descriptions with lots of images to follow to get you painting the pet projects, it will just take some confidence. My first project was the bee, and, whilst not as polished as the one in the book, it wasn't bad for a first attempt. I don't think you will be seeing my work in any galleries anytime soon, but It looks happy on my shelf.

Really nice book. The illustrations and photos are great and the step by step guide to draw is very useful for kids and adults. I will keep the author in mind for further books.

I bought this for a 7 year old but really almost all of the designs are too complicated for that age, even for a year older. You also need to buy quite a lot of materials in order to paint these, from chalk and special waterproof pencils to outline the design, then acrylic paints in several colours plus 3D black acrylic for eyes and markings etc and varnish to finish off the completed design. So essentially the book is excellent - but more suitable for older children, teenagers and adults.

My granddaughter loved the book. She’s doing art and design course at college. Found the book really helpful.

My grandson saw my book and wanted one himself. A good book.

Many creative ideas

the simplicity of this book made it much easier for newcomers like me to work out the best way to start. I really enjoy this form of art. Has helped me a lot during this covid lockdown. I am 80 years old and its great to have a hobby. My garden is looking better for all the stones and pebbles that now decorate it

This is a Must Have book Great for an introduction to painting pebbles. It includes a “what you need” section as well as a “prep & finish” section. Good quality colour photographs. Really pleased! Good value for money.

Was great

I liked that they were good sized and flat. We used them as a family group at Thanksgiving. Creative and fun.

I just took up rock painting this year. I’m not artistic at all and usually look for ideas to paint online and in everyday items. This book has some of the cutest ideas and they all seem to be very doable for a novice like me. I would recommend it to anyone interested in rock painting.
