GREAT ROD but when Amazon ships they don't use a cardboard tube like St Croix does so..., when you order a 7'6" rod with zero cardboard guess what.. It comes with some damage. Bent eyelets etc .. Hope fully Amazon with figure this out and start shipping any fishing rods in a cardboard tube. Have had same results with other brands too.These rods are awesome,IF, big if you can receive it unsaved.

Purchased the Ultra-Light version of this rod and it has come to be my favorite go to combo. Purchased this rod without realizing I was purchasing an ultralight (have not purchased fishing gear in 20 years), received this rod and realized that it was not what I was expecting. Decided to go with it and purchased a Shimano spinning reel to finish it out, now goes with me every time I go fishing. Fantastic rod and makes catching those panfish feel like you are reeling in moby dick. Fun rod, excellent build quality, fantastic action for panfish. Never heard of St. Croix before I purchased this rod, I own multiple now. My go to setup. Caught several smaller catfish on this setup and was a total blast to bring those in on this rod, from small catfish to white bass to panfish this thing is just dynamite. Love it.

Shipment arrived with ripped flimsy box that was entirely inappropriate for shipping such a fine piece of graphite and cork. The broken tip of the rod was visible through the torn box end. I refused shipment at the street and expect a replacement in about 10 days...so says Amazon. Guess the fish are safe for a while.5 stars because I already own one and it is among my favorites. Perfect combination of price and performance. I use 6lb Trilene XL in a Shimano Symetre 2500 rear drag. Very light and sensitive rig for fighting fish, not great for just setting the hook and yanking them in the boat. Pole has the backbone for a strong hookset with a long line out but still bends well to keep the pressure on. I typically use this on 40 to 60 foot lake bottom structure jigging for smallies. I even landed a 24lb Striper from a kayak with this setup.Shame to waste resources simply because of of poor packaging. Fuel, cardboard, fishing pole, all wasted.

Broke first time I used ! Hung on branch tried popping it free like I’ve done many times! Snap! Not impressed! Will seek refund!

The pole is awesome, i used my dads this year and decided to get one myself. however the first one i ordered the top half a foot of the pole was broken off. and the replacement, half the eyes were bent out of place. Sending such a fragile item in a plastic bag via the mail? this needs to change.

I have to tell you, just like every other sport out there, technology and knowledge is necessary for success. I’m 58 years old originally from Colorado and now living in Maryland for at least 35 of those years. I haven’t picked up a rod and reel since I moved here. Just a different style of fishing here than I’m used to back in Colorado. I’ve had a huge lifestyle change and thought why spend all your free time on the golf course when I can do something else. My future son in-law said Maryland/Pennsylvania has good lake and stream trout fishing. Well after hours upon hours of research and reading reviews I decided on the St Croix rod. Truly the main reason for purchasing is that it is made in the USA by a small company and their dedication to making your enjoyment of the sport. Oh and of course all the outstanding reviews and photos. I haven’t used it yet as I’m still waiting on my reel and for the season to come back early spring. By that time I will have everything. I will surely keep you posted on my first couple days of enjoyment back into fishing.

Bought it for the wife in Dec 2022.did not get to use it till june 2023.Beautiful rod.alot of fun when you catch 3/4 pound bass.Unfortunalety it snapped while pike fishing.Filled out the waranty clain with st croix.Finally got a phone call.No hassels,they accepted the warranty claim.All I paid is shipping which is normal.When you buy quality,you expect quality service and that is exactly what i got.Highly recommended.thanks st croix.

Haven't used it yet (too cold🥶), but as soon as I can get out I will. Looks really well made.Shame it doesn't come with a rod bag.

Dont know if someone decided to play a joke but its not funny to recive a broken in half rod for wich i payed more than 100£....
