No more shoulder pain
Haven't had any noticeable back or shoulder pain since I got this almost a year ago, witch I occasionally did before using this chair. I started first with all the arm attachments and neck rest removed until I got accustomed to the balance of the chair. The chest rest has a wide range of motion allowing you to lean very far forward. The sturdy heavy base allows you to feel stable and natural curved seat help keep you in a comfortably wide stance. The height and angle controls can be easily adjusted with feet or covered with plastic. I typically just plastic wrap or even throw a bag over the entire chair. The added arm rests are somewhat clunky but once you find your placement they are a great asset. The chair takes a little time to acclimate tO but if you take a few min to adjust properly before each client its absolutely worth it. I honestly hate sitting in any other chair while working.

A must have for your shop needs!
I have been doing tattoos for around 15 years now and I have sat in many of stools and chairs. Over time stools and chairs flatten, become wobbley, fall apart and/or just make you feel miserable. Back pain leg numbness has constantly plagued me. So, I decided to do something about it.This chair is amazing. The cushion is very thick and giving. The seat's design allows you plenty of room for you butt and legs without that pinchy sensation. You can also straddle comfortably... Great for doing up close work and/or if you're large breasted, as I am. The arm rests are a nice touch. The selling factor for this chair (for me) was the sturdy metal base and wheel combination, unlike most chairs/stools, which are made of plastic. Some assembly is required. All the parts are in the the pieces and will require a Phillips screwdriver (I looked for a solid 20 minutes for the screws in the box before I figure out they were pre-installed). Hopefully, I will not need any extra screws (not included) any time soon.

The only time I enjoy the chair is when I need to work on ...
The chair has its moments where it comes In handy but then again it doesn’t go down low enough to be able to tattoo certain body parts without having to back breakingly bend over to reach the area, and I have one of the Inkbed style chairs to and those even set up higher than the typical all purpose chairs. The other thing is the design of the cushion digs into the back of your legs so after a couple hours you’re legs are in more pain than it’s even worth. The only time I enjoy the chair is when I need to work on an area such as the shoulder/above the bicep area and can sit In the chair backwards. The chair goes up so high that it works well with the Inkbed, Needlejig, and TattSoul chairs height but the backrest is so heavy that even when you tighten the knob down all the way, it always seems to slide down again. The chair definitely needs some design tweaking.

Feel like I'm constantly going to flip backwards
Some issues right off: The seat cushion is strongly angled backward and doesn't have a place for a 3rd screw to hold the front down. You constantly feel like you're going to be flipped off the back (which actually happened to me during assembly. The directions show you two ways to install the seat cushion, so I sat on it to try option 1 and was flopped right onto my back, which in turn gave a little more backward tilt to the seat. Other reviewers mention the back ward seat tilt problem.). The armrests: they are held in place with two screws with GIANT handles. I tried to get close to my client today, but I had to remove the armrests AND the screws as they hinder my ability to scooch up close. You also need a separate Allen wrench to adjust the angle of the armrests (which I didn't have handy). I am a smaller person, so I would like the arm rests to be flush to the front support, but because of the giant screws, you're unable to position it that way. This seat seems like it would only work for certain applications, as in tattooing you have to sit all kinds of ways.

Best artist chair on the market without question!
Bottom to top (or wheels to rest) this chair has been an absolute life saver! Wheels glide smooth and easy, and in a year, I've seen zero wear and tear. Cushion is amazing! Love Love Love sitting in this chair! Arm rests (when rear facing) offer immediate tension relief to the arms and hands that are left to freely move about and tattoo! I see alot of people complaining about the height... maybe Im not doing it right, but I simply elevate my Inkbed client chair all the way, then lower my Inkbed artist chair all the way, and then... let the rest lean way forward, rock my arm rests parallel to the area to be tattooed and VOILA! NO BACK PAIN even working on those foot / ankle pieces!!! Thank you Inkbed!!!

This chair is awesome! Expectations completely fulfilled!
This chair is awesome! Expectations completely fulfilled! Very comfortable and easily adjusted. The one thing that I should point out is that you have to make sure that the pull lever for the arm rest is set in and down in the secured and locked position, otherwise the weight of your arms could push it all the way down. This chair was delivered a full week ahead of promise date, so that was a nice surprise. I am an illustrative artist and have tried a number of chairs; this is a great chair and I am very happy with the purchase so far. It is heavy duty and should last a very long time. The thick foam seat and back make sitting in it very comfortable.

Perfect!
Amazingly well made- a steal for $300 honestly. A lot of the chairs like this one are more like $600. I wish it could go a little lower but I’ve just raised my massage table and it’s fine. Really nice cushion and flexibility. 10/10
