Exciting and romantic!
I have to say that Tegans book is now my favorite! Elise is an amazing woman and really gives the book an exciting twist! Texans character is so hot and standoffish and I love it! I can't wait to see what Lara Adrian has in store for us in her next book :)

Lovely second chance for Tegan and Elise
Tegan and Elise's second chance to happiness. Tegan's story couldn't have been better!! One of my favorites in Lara's writing are the strong females that she writes and boy did she write a strong female in Elise! Elise is a widow having lost her husband to a Rogue. Her whole life is wrong because of what the Merak and his Rogue nation have done to her family. She is determined to fulfill her promise to her family to avenge their deaths.Elise is a Breedmate but she is also human therefore she can go out in the day time. Elise moves out of the Darkhaven where she lives and moves into a depilated apartment. Elise's curse/gift is that she can hear other human's thoughts. Using this curse/gift she hunts minions (human slaves made by Marek by draining them to a thread of their lives) and kills them. She always goes out during the day and is back in her apartment before dark. One day, in blood doused clothing, she doesn't make it back to her apartment before dark and is scented by two Rogues who immediately go after her. Tegan also scented her from the roof tops where he was hunting Rogues. When he found the source of the scent he immediately knew it was Elise. Tegan had given Elise a ride back to the Darkhaven where she lived on a visit to the Order's compound so he was familiar with her scent and attracted to her. Tegan interfered, saving her, and taking her back to her apartment.Tegan was surprised how Elise's curse/gift affected her, especially since she had not fed from her mate in 5 years. Elise got horrific migraines because the voices in her head would not stop coming. Tegan was surprised how she had to live in order to be able to survive outside of the Darkhaven. After that their story begins. This is probably the most intriguing book so far. Just when you think the story has hit it's peak another unraveling takes you on another suspenseful journey. As has been the case with all the books so far in this series the writing is flawless and flows beautifully. Characterization is three dimensional. All the characters are wonderfully written. We are introduced to a new character in this book that I absolutely loved. On I go to read Rio's story. Already it looks very promising.Highly recommended

Absolutely Delightful Read
I have been following this author since the first book and Tegan has to be one of my favorite characters. The lone, stoic, fighter who gets the job done but gives no quarter to emotion. He has totally closed himself down and lives only for justice and vengence.Tegan lost his breedmate to the Rogues, 500 yrs ago and still he can't forgive them or himself. He feels he should have been there to protect her. The only way he exists is to focus totally on fighting the Rogues who threaten his people. Not that his people really appreciate the men of the Order.Elise Chase has come to the place Tegan is, her son got hooked on the drug, Crimson, and turned Rogue, he was killed by her brother-in-law right in front of her. Four months later she has left the Darkhaven and is hunting minions with her psychic power. Although she is not able to shut out the many minds pierceing her brain she continues to fight for justice and vengence.Tegan finds her being attacked by Rogues, he saves her and follows her home where he discovers she is hunting and killing minions by herself. A minion is a human totally belonging to a master vampire. Elise has stumbled on a rare book desperately wanted by Marik, the leader of the Rogues. Rescueing her from the Rogues one more time Tegan takes her to the Order. Everyone is trying to understand the old diary she has found. All of the people we have met before are here in the story. And all are trying to decifer the verse in the book. More secrets are revealed and Elise demands Tegan help her in the battle by sharing his blood with her. The blood bond between mates in not to be used in this way and there will be a price for her and Tegan.I loved this one it reminded me of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, I could not put it down and I recommend it highly. I have already pre-ordered the next book in the series. Lots of action, romance and a challanging plot. You do not have to read them in order, each book stands alone, but they are better and you understand more about the main characters if you read them in order.

A must read!
I must say I LOVED this book. Not only do you have one of the oldest and furious(good looking) warriors in this one but it also kinda drops a bomb in the story line about the elders so to speak. Tegan had my interst in the first book and I could not wait to read the book about him. He is a stone cold fighting machine. He has no shame in what he does or how he does it. I loved his character. But the harder they are the harder they fall. Elise was in the 2nd book of the series when her son is lost to the blood lust because of the drug Crimson. She has a great power or curse as she sees it at times. She has vowed vengance for her sons death. Her and Tegan kind of team up to fight(even though Tegan fights alone) They are a match. I don't like to write to much on stories because I think people should read them for theirselves and get an idea of what a great story it is.I have no clue why I feel in love with Tegan, his character drew me in. I love all the books of this series of I have read so far and I'm waiting on my next book to arrive in the mail with Rio as its main character this time. I can't wait to see what is in store for that book. These series are great!!

Worthy breed male!
Toss up between Tegan and Rio for my favourite Breed male. This is a story of survival for both Elise and Tegan. Tegan acts like an idiot and mean towards Elise but you know it’s because he has the misguided thought that he’s not good enough. You’re a warrior man, definitely worth it! Elise proves that she’s no longer a Darkhaven genteel lady but a warrior in her own way. Loved this book, incredibly hot, enjoy!

Great read!
This story was just as engrossing as the previous two. There is once more that perfect mix of the larger, on-going plot that follows through each story and then the individual tale of Breedmale warriors in each book. The story of The Breed, The Order, The Ancients, The Rogues and the fight to protect humanity runs through each book. The action is fast, fierce, bloody and sometimes devastating when people lose loved ones. The Warriors are fierce Breedmales. Their reputation has been built upon and despite the good that they do, the self-sacrifice and honour ... they are regarded with suspicion and caution. They are huge, gorgeous, sexy and wild. Dangerous, passionate and every inch the dominating male.Tegan is a consummate Warrior. He is also a loner. A powerful Gen One. Even his comrades treat him with caution and respect. He loved once, only to have his mate tortured and raped. She'd been brutally treated and returned fit only for a merciful death. He'd vowed never to give his heart again.Elise is also a shell of her previous self. She has led a protected and sheltered life in the Darkhavens, mixing only with the most refined and genteel of her kind. However, the death of her mate and then her teenage son, has left her reeling and looking for revenge.Tegan and Elise have both loved and lost. Both on a mission to rid the world of rogues and minions. Both trying desperately to protect their hearts from any more pain.Perfect for each other!I found Tegan a really attractive character. He was like a wounded lion, roaring at anyone that got too close. He was part of the Order and yet not a cohesive unit like the others. He was too afraid to form any kind of relationship, even friendship. His emotional protective walls had been carefully constructed over centuries. He was a dangerous, avenging angel, swooping down on evil and leaving ash in his wake. A hard, invincible shell wrapped in a gorgeous package and with a well-hidden, tender, kind heart. What woman could resist that? This is a wonderful series and I look forward to reading the next book.

Midnight Breed Series Book 3
Before I get started with the review I'd just like to say that if you're new to the series then I'd highly recommend that you start with book 1 - Kiss of Midnight. Although I try really hard not to give spoilers in my reviews it is very difficult when reviewing a series not to mention things that have happened in previous books so I wouldn't recommend reading any further if you've not read the first 2 books.I have been looking forward to Tegan's story since I first started this series. He is a Gen One warrior & helped Lucan found the Order. He is the most deadly of all of the warriors and is the one that makes everyone nervous of him. Tegan has been to the depths of hell - consumed with bloodlust when he lost his previous Breedmate 500 years ago & has burried his emotions to come back from the brink. He makes you nervous but at the same time is incredibly attractive & is in desperate need of healing. We were first introduced to Elise in Kiss of Crimson & to be honest I didn't think that much of her to start with. She came across as quite weak & I didn't think that she was a deserving Breedmate for Tegan. However, that all changed in this book. Due to the loss of her son who was turned into a Rogue by the drug crimson she is now determined to do her bit to help in the war. In this book she has left the safetly of the Darkhavens & is using her psychic ability to track down & kill Minions. She wants to get vengance for Camden and is determined nothing is going to stop her.Although the Order were able to remove the crimson dealer in the last book the war with the Rogues is continuing & Marek is still a threat to the Breed & humans alike. The plot takes Tegan to Berlin where he is in need of assistance from Elise and much of this book is set in Germany. We are introduced to new character Andreas Richen who has offered his assistance to the Order. I think he is going to be an interesting character & I'm looking forward to finding out more about him in later books. The story focuses mainly on the building relationship between Tegan & Elise. They have both known love before & suffered badly due to the loss of their Breedmates which has made them wary of becoming vulnerable again. Both of them are fighting against getting involved with each other but are drawn to each other against their wishes. Elise needs Tegan's help in order to control her psychic abilities but he also finds that he needs her assistance too & that despite what he thinks she can be of help in the war. The romance & passion between them is compelling and like the other books the plot is fast paced & keeps you hooked right to the end of the book. I'm really looking forward to the next book!

One of my favourite vampires
Along with Lucan Tegan is a gen one warrior, fathered by alians who crashed onto Earth thousands of years ago.Tegan is a self-controlled warrior who slays his enemies'with ice in his viens'.Elise has lost everything she ever loved. She leaves the Darkhaven intent on revenge against the rogues. Her breedmate ability means she hears every thought of those around her, human or vampire unless she drowns it out.As she gets weaker the harder it becomes until she meets Tegan. He is the only one who can stop the noise, together they form an alliance to kill who was responsable for the death of her husband.I loved this story, that such a hard warrior could fall for a delicate but hard headed woman like her. From the first page you are reeled in by this story. It's as good if not better than the last one.

Review: Midnight Awakening
Midnight Awakening, the third book in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series and I think that the series has now hit its stride. The story itself picks up a few months after the events in the preceding Kiss of Crimson (Midnight Breed) . As such it also concerns characters that have already been introduced to us previously; Elise Chase the sister-in-law of Sterling Chase and Tegan, one of the more extreme Breed warriors. Therefore any newcomers to the series should not start here else you'll be floundering. The first great thing I liked about Elise is that she is no stranger to the world of the Breed so that instantly eliminated any need for Tegan to hide that he's not entirely human. The other benefit that this has is that it delves deeper into the dynamics of the Breed society in what is expected how people view each other. The journey that Elise takes from being a sheltered breed mate in mourning in Kiss of Crimson to where she ends up by the end of Midnight Awakening is a remarkable. But the sayings "hell hath no fury like a woman..." and "the female is deadlier than the male" do come to mind.Tegan is also interesting as a warrior who is still in mourning after losing his breed mate to the rogues over five hundred years previously. As such, we learn why he is the way has been in the books to date. His journey is no less interesting given that he has been set in his ways for so long. His story actually turns out to be very relevant to current events so in addition to learning more about Breed society and the Dark Havens we also learn more about the history of the race and I'm always pleased when there is more back story. It's not just filler either because given the turn of events in Midnight Awakening the history is also used to set up events for Midnight Rising. That doesn't mean that it ends on a cliff hanger because events definitely come to a...er...head. Ha! Never mind, just read it.For those interesting in the action side, don't worry on that score because there is just the right amount of both fight scenes and between the sheets whilst weaving the relationship story and solving a mystery. My reviews tend to get shorter as series go on but without trying to spoil anything for newcomers to the series there's not much that can be said. Midnight Awakening is a great addition to what is turning out to be an excellent series with a worthy couple that you will root for. Kiss of Crimson (Midnight Breed)
