Q: are the hands and dial luminous/visible at night?

No they are not. They aren't solar or anything

Q: Skagen website says this is 40mm diam and 6.5mm thick. (A reviewer here also mentioned it's 40mm) Is description incorrect? What is actual thickness?

I see Skagen says 37 mm. Hey why don't you send them an email or call their 800. I own the watch and it really is a nice piece.

Q: do the hands glow in the dark?

The hands glow with a luminol-like glow when charged by light. Glow does not last long.

Q: Is the watch as thin as the minimalist Skagen watches?

No the Minimalist is 20mm bandwidth where as the Holst Saddle is slightly bigger at 22mm.
