Great and practical product. We used on an interior stair leading from the main house to an in-law unit. Our steps are much shallower than modern steps because our house is so old. Anyone with a foot larger than a size 5 would feel like their foot would slip off of the front of the step. One sort of had to place his or her foot sideways or at an angle to have firm footing. These strips have excellent grip and have made the stairs much much safer. We can now walk down the stairs normally because the back of the foot can grip/bite the stair more solidly. We worried the strips would feel too coarse or look too "rugged", but neither is the case. They look just fine and not like they should be outside. The glow strips are a nice added touchy hat outline the stair edges when the lights are off. VAST improvement for us. Strips are easy to install with a sticky back. You just need to measure out the placement so that they look uniform.

First of all they measure exactly as described, 6x24. I installed these on an outdoor wooden ramp for the parents. The deck boards were an inch narrower than these tape strips, so I ended up straddling the gap between boards. The gap is about a quarter inch, so most of the adhesive is on the unfinished deck boards and immediately held tight. Pressed it down with my foot and they don't budge. Eventually the parents want to put a deck sealer over everything including the grip tape strips. The glow in the dark works well, but only until they seal over it...lol.I will update in six months to see if the product deserves more or less than the current 4-star rating. Thanks.SPO

I have tried other brands of traction strips, mostly 3M. These strips are very well made, and most importantly they stay adhered to the stairs. They perform great in rain. I put these on my outdoor stairs in December and they made it through a winter in Chicago with salt, ice, etc. None came up, not even partially. Edges were still flat and secure. I am buying another set for our other stairs now. Great product!Update, 7/19: We had to have our stairs re-stained because of all of the damage done by winter salt, snow, etc. These grips were adhered so well to the stairs, the painters had great difficulty removing them. These things are solid, definitely purchased more and just applied them to the newly stained stairs. There is nothing better out there.

Purchased these for an outside ramp we installed for our elderly parents. (I'm sure they are truly designed for inside use, but we needed traction on that slippery ramp.) These are a bit expensive, but when it comes to the safety of my parents, the extra few bucks was worth it. I actually ended up ordering more to cover other steps for them. They were very easy to install (peel-n-stick) and while the glow-in-the-dark strip has a pretty limited output, that extra line on the strip does add to the look.Make sure your surface is very clean and free of debris when installing and you will be happy. With winter hitting soon, we'll see how they last outside and if they still grip well come springtime. :)

Very good product. I wish that the small strip that glows in the dark would be a little brighter, but I mainly bought these to make steps in the garage that lead to the house safer for my family. My wife had slipped on the steps while carrying my son and it could have turned out bad. These stick very well to wooden/painted steps. Very satisfied with this purchase.

if you have an older person in your house I highly recommend these for their safety. Got these for my 86 year old father so he won't slip and fall down the steps. they live up to job plus the strips glow in the dark to help you see if their is no lite during power outages. Can urge any one enough who have elder people they want to keep safe at all cost to get these.

At first I was concerned these would not hold or would not do as necessary, I was happily wrong. We found them relatively easy to place and once placed, they have done a terrific job of sticking to the painted wood steps. The glow strips can be seen pretty well at night and the grip is great. For our use, these were perfect!

Could be a bit more durable, gets damaged easily from wear. Like the other reviews say it does stick and work well however it is astronomically priced. Over 5 bucks per stair if you have a lot of stairs sucks.
