Review: A Bargain! - Overall an excellent brace. I bought this one because previous ones prescribed either hurt like the dickens or break/crack after a few months of use. I have 2 extremely floppy feet and ankles so wear these every day. The only drawback so far is that these AFOs are shorter than others I have worn and don’t give as much lateral support to the ankle but at least I won’t fall on my face! These are made out of a tough plastic and are difficult to trim. Household scissors won’t work so I used metal shears and finished with a belt sander. Other reviews have commented on the poor quality of the Velcro straps. They are correct but a cheap, simple fix is to buy some cinch straps for roughly $1 each and glue them on. Review: Worthless...at least as far as my needs are concerned - As a result of injuries during my previous career, I've essentially no more cartilage in my ankle and have a great deal of bone-on-bone contact at all times. Thus, I need (at least) a semi-rigid support for my ankle/foot to significantly reduce the flexion in my ankle when peddling on a bicycle...at this point the only potential physical activity available considering various injuries I have. Thought this product might help, but it does absolutely nothing to reduce the flexion...I mean NOTHING. My ankle still fully flexes even with the smallest amount of pressure applied while wearing the brace. FOR ME, this product was a complete waste of money. However, if we don't try, we don't know, right? I wold offer that if you need ANY sort of restriction to the amount of flexion you have in your ankle, this is NOT THE PRODUCT FOR YOU. However, if you're just looking for something that may fool your mind and gives you the sense that there is some support, then give it a shot. Again, this product DID NOT MEET MY NEEDS, but everyone's needs are different and the product may be just what the doctor ordered for you. We are a USA based company, but this product is imported. **Q: Is this worn inside the sox or does the sox go over the device?? should it be trimmed to foot / shoe size?? why no instructions for use??** A: It can be worn either way with the sock. I trimmed the foot area to fit in shoes. With sandals I wear a sock with the foot part cut off so my foot is only seen through the sandal. I don’t wear them with shorts, only slacks. I’ve also worn them with socks and another sock over them so the brave doesn’t show when wearing dress slacks. Whatever you’re comfortable right. The one will grommets are better than the ones with the Velcro just glued on but harder to find. They do last a lot longer though. **Q: What are the sizes for men?** A: The sizes are universal. We have a left and a right for men or women. The foot plate is easily cut to the perfect size to fit almost any size foot. **Q: How far does it go up the back of the leg?** A: I am a man....the brace goes to mid calf around 11 or 12 inches. As an aside...I had the soft top strap and it did not work well. It kept sliding down my leg so I resorted to the single velcro strap and no slip. I have two braces for drop foot and they are great. Good luck! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked great for me *by C***. on November 24, 2021* Does what it is suppose to do. I wear a men's 11.5 and this fits my shoe/foot perfectly. Didn't have to do any trimming. Put it in your shoe first before strapping it on, it will make your life easier. Its plastic, so have some common sense if you have it on without shoes on carpeted/slick surfaces. There is no grip on the bottom. Also, there is no strap on the foot, they are only above the ankle. So if it isn't secured firmly and you're not wearing shoes, it's probably not going to stay secured to your foot. What I am saying is, just wear it with shoes. If you're an americansheepdog and only have one functioning arm and hand and you need to trim it, here is a tip... Put it on, get a marker and mark the device where you need to cut it. REMOVE DEVICE. Secure device to safe and flat work area. Get scissors or similar cutting device (with your strong hand that works). Cut along the marked line that you earlier made. Reattach device to your foot. DONE. If you are unable to do so with the strong hand, just ask a friend, family member or whoever wipes your ass for you because you can't do simple tasks with your hands, to cut it for you. If their wiping them cheeks, I am sure this won't be a problem.
