For years I have been buying one brush or another from the local pet store for my dogs and never have been satisfied. They are either so expensive I wonder if they are made of gold (and don't buy them) or they are priced reasonably but work cheap and don't last. Nothing ever worked good enough. Then I remembered one day; a curry comb! I would never have tried to keep a horse groomed properly without starting with a curry comb (haven't had horses in decades, but one day I just remembered). I thought it would help my Akita/pit mix with his nasty double coat. It did more than I could have imagined! Does miracles, not only on his coat, but on his skin; flakes are gone. Does miracles on my Golden/Poodle/Foxhound mix too. I didn't even know how bad she had it until I used this on her. My dogs line up to be brushed now and this thing seems built to last.

Best Curry Comb Ever!!
Just bought this to replace the one I accidentally left on my trailer wheel well and it got run over. This is the best curry comb ever and it’s very hard to find so glad I got another one. Cover so much more area makes brushing your horse a lot easier. Thank you thank you thank you!

She has thick fur with an under coat that molted like crazy this spring
I bought this for our 65lb mix breed dog. The adoption place guessed she is part husky, part german shepherd, and who knows what else. She has thick fur with an under coat that molted like crazy this spring. This brush is big but it gets the job done. In one 15-20 minute session I had a massive pile of fur and one shinny dog. Now it only takes 5 minutes every other week to keep the shedding down. Next year I will do it out side and leave the fur for nesting birds. If your dog is much smaller I would not recommend this size, I may even try to take the outer loop off at some point. For now I am very happy with my purchase, not just for horses!

HUGE time saver for GSD (Germand Shepherd Dog) owners
I learned about this de-shedding tool from the germanshepherd.com forums; which I do have to say it is a pretty big relief that I did.First off, I brush my dog weekly. German Shepherds are a breed that sheds heavily. However, once my pup grew past 30 pounds the DakPets Deshedding tool that I bought 3 months prior became a pretty big inconvenience due to how long it would take to brush my dog. That particular brush is similar to the Furminator but without the ridiculous price tag; while it is a good brush it because it could only cover a little area of my dog, it became time consuming and very inconvenient. With this comb I was able to do the same amount of brushing that would take about in about less then half the time and much more effectively. The only downside to this brush that I have is that it is a bit hard to clean the hair off unless you have a big clump of it already in it. Which honestly to me is not a huge deal.I would recommend this product to fellow GSD owners and other large breed/heavy shedding dog owners.

Not good for fine hair animals.
My parents always used this for our dogs growing up and still do with their large mix, and it works great. So, I ordered one for my black lab/aussie shephard mix whose hair has been all over the house! His hair is really thin and fine compared to any other dog I have ever had and compared to my parents lab mix. This brush doesn't seem to grab it at all... So I don't think it is meant for fine hair.If you have a dog with thick or rough textured hair, it would be a good buy. For me, not so much.

Best product for dogs that shed a lot
I’ve tried every brush/comb/furminator/etc. out there for my retriever lab mix who sheds like crazy. I’ve even paid extra for the groomer to de-shed her only to have her come back still shedding. This is literally the only thing that’s completely gotten rid of all the excess fur. I’d recommend using it outside (we use it at the dog park) cuz it will blow fur everywhere. But it’s a great great product. I’ll definitely be using it on my husky once she starts shedding more.

SO MUCH BETTER!
Boy howdy, this metal curry is waaayyy better than the four-coil type. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's worth it. My guys are just big, walking mudballs in the fall and early winter, and this thing makes short work of removing it so their coats can puff back up to keep them warm. I love this curry!

Hairy Great Dane!!!!
Wow! Its amazing! I have a Great Dane that sheds a ridiculous amount of hair. We read about a curry brush and decided to give it a try, because the regular brushes didn't seem to help. Wouldn't believe the hair and dander that came off the first time we used it. Major improvement with her coat and not as much shedding and she loves the feel of the brush (she barks when we stop). Her hair is short and fine so I use the side thats not as sharp. Definately a good find.
