Won’t turn off
The scales are a replacement for another set Of salter purchased many years previously. I dropped and broke them.I’ve purchased salter again for their accuracy. The problem I have however is that they just won’t turn off and I don’t want to needlessly waste the battery.

Great value for money
This is a good scale for the money, it's accurate and the display is easy to see. Comes with battery. The bowl is also good quality and sits nicely on the base.

Poor design don’t waste your money
Very poorly designed, because it has a clock that runs 24\7 therefore eats batteries up, why would you want a clock on cooking scales. Not recommended at all. I weighed 2 Christmas cake ingredients and the batteries went flat. Not happy you can’t turn it off without taking the batteries out after use. I went for Salter again as I have always had them. Very disappointed.

UPDATE - read to end. Complete waste of money. Bought these scales for my elderly mum. First battery lasted a fortnight. I replaced it but on going round last week noticed that the battery was dead again. 2 batteries in less than three months - really Salter?Complained to Amazon who reckon that 6 months use of kitchen scales with a years guarantee is ‘ satisfactory use of this product for a period of time exceeding the typical average life of this product’ and told me to contact Salter.I did and result - they resolved the problem immediately.We use Amazon a lot but this has made me think. I’ll be looking for alternative suppliers from now on. Rubbish service Amazon!
