Nice warm coat, but sizing is WAY off!
Note: I ordered this coat twice within a week. Please read entire review to get a feel for the specifics of the sizing issues!I initially ordered this coat in XXL, despite usually wearing an XL very comfortably in everything else (I do not wear my clothes tight or form-fitting). But Amazon suggested that I should order that size, which I assumed was taking into consideration the quirks in Chinese sizing, so I went for it. My actual waist measurement over a cotton tee and a polarfleece vest is 42", so I was taking into consideration the clothing I'd be layering under the coat. When the coat arrived, it came in a very nice breathable zipper bag for storing it out of season. I was impressed with this nice touch! In checking out the construction, I found it to be very well made and finished. I sew, so I notice hanging threads and puckered seams - none of those on this coat. Nice heavy fabric loop for hanging up. Wonderful extra inside collar, a soft but sturdy stand-up knit fabric. Checked out the pockets, because several reviews said the zippers were scratchy. I didn't feel that this was the case. Ample room for my hands and gloves. Fur around the hood - okay, but not the greatest - not enough buttons to hold it close to the hood fabric, so it flopped around. I decided I'd just remove it and wear it without the fur. Hood very big with no adjustments, but I sew, so I was willing to remedy that myself. Otherwise satisfied, I tried on the coat. Hmmm. Too big across the shoulders - my upper arms are thick, so usually I have the opposite problem. Sleeves big, and a little long, but nice knit inside cuffs would take care of that, if only the rest of the coat was a good fit. The length was just perfect for bitter cold, blustery weather - I'm 5'4", and it fell just to my knees. Exactly what I wanted. But the width of this coat - just HUGE! I could have pulled my granddaughter close to me and zipped us both up in it! Not exaggerating!I got out my tape measure, laid the coat out flat, and found that the actual measurement of this XXL coat is 56" across from zipper half to zipper half. The manufacturer's chart said 52.8", which I thought when ordering would still be too big, but I went with Amazon's sizing suggestion when I ordered it, hoping that they were including the storm flap and a down filled coat just needed to be wider due to it's puffiness - I've never had one before. I know there are slim, lightweight down coats, but I didn't need one of those - I am looking for serious warmth here! But this coat, when zipped, made me look like the Michelin Man! And no way could I stay warm in bitter winter winds - the cold air would just blow in under the coat and up the inside. Even adjusting the back snaps on the waistband only drew the waist in 2 inches total - 1" on each side.Disappointed, I went back to Amazon to reorder. I liked the overall style and since it was well constructed, I'd just get the same coat in a smaller size. Decided to get black this time, as the blue was just not a 'pretty' blue to me - more like a utility jacket blue. I ordered an XL, again consulting the manufacturer's chart which shows that the waist on an XL is 48.8. Still not sure that would fit properly, but concerned that a size L at 44.9 inches would be too tight across the bust and shoulders (and I'm average in that area - 40B). With 2" to adjust with the snaps at the back waist, I thought the XL should be perfect. When the new coat in black arrived, I first noticed that this one came in a plain plastic bag - no nice zipper storage bag like the first coat. When I picked it up, I was surprised that this coat seemed so much lighter in overall weight than the first coat. I immediately noticed that label inside the back neck was not the same as the first coat - same brand name, but a smaller cream with black wording, where the first one had been black with silver, and larger. Even the catch phrase below the brand was different! And no hanging loop! Puzzling. Size tag: XL. But otherwise coat was identical in styling to the first. I was surprised by these inconsistencies, but still hopeful that this coat would be perfect. I could tell that it was indeed smaller than the first one just by looking at it.But oh my, was it smaller! Much smaller in every single dimension. Tight in the shoulders, snug sleeves. The pockets were even smaller! I measured the length of the zipper opening, and it was a full 1" shorter on both pockets. I cannot fathom why they would do this. But the absolute deal-breaker was that this coat, just one letter size smaller than the former coat, was so small that I could barely get it snapped closed. I would never even try to zip up a coat that was as tight as this one, for fear of breaking the zipper! So I checked the manufacturer's size chart yet again. They state that an XL in this style measures 48.8" around the waist. My tape measure said this coat is exactly 43" around, measuring it flat, on the inside, from zipper half to zipper half. There is no way this coat is an XL. I didn't even take the time to measure at the bust and hip - the coat is pretty much straight from top to bottom, so if the waist doesn't fit, the coat doesn't fit. This coat is closest to what they indicate for a size Large, since they probably include the storm flap overlap when they measure. The coat I received is definitely mismarked.REALLY disappointed now, I had to make a decision to try to reorder this same coat in the size I believe will actually fit - XL - and hope that I would actually get a true XL, or give up and restart my search for the perfect coat. Hoping to get a down coat that is both stylish AND wearable before the next blast of frigid winter weather comes through the Midwest, I decided to order a different brand this time. It should be here in a few days, and if that one doesn't fit well, I may go back and give this Orolay coat one more try. It is a really nice coat, and had the best combination of features I wanted. I'm thinking that the second coat had been a return due to the difference in packaging, but it could be that the manufacturer changed the details (lack of hanging loop, smaller zipper pockets, etc.) in a restyle and this is what they're selling now.So buyer beware. Coat quality: 4 1/2 stars (faux fur trim being the only detractor - kind of thin and doesn't attach well). Sizing: 1 star. C'mon, Chinese garment industry. If you are going to sell clothing in the United States, then change your patterns to match those for the ready-to-wear that we Americans buy in our stores so we can have confidence in the sizes we're ordering. We are not just larger Asian women. We are proportioned differently, and that's okay - we just need the clothes we buy from you to fit! Please indicate on your size charts whether the measurements are the actual garment dimensions or the body measurements that the item is supposed to fit. If we read the chart and can't tell, we are helpless when trying to pick the right size. Sending both of the above coats back to Amazon, and hoping for the best!

Nice jacket for cold winter.
I really like this jacket, I was looking for a long jacket that would be tall enough for me (5'10) and would fit around my chest with a sweater underneath. I've worn this outside when it was between 35-45degrees F and have never felt cold. The sleeves are long enough and go right to my thumb which is nice.My only beef with this is the faux fur on the hood. It's removable, which is nice, but sometimes it unhooks from the buttons that keeps it secure on the top and it falls. I like that the fur can be removable in case you want just a plain hood, but maybe make a hood that had the fur sewn in as an addition to the jacket? or find a better way to keep the fur attached to the hood.Overall I would 100% recommend this jacket.

SMALL
Great jacket overall, definitely runs small. I am a XXS/XS in most items, I decided to go with a Small due to reviews saying the arms are tight. I would not have even fit in a smaller size. I wish I went with Medium honestly, Im not sure how tight the jacket will be with a sweater underneath. Definitely great quality and do recommend - JUST SIZE UP AT LEAST 2 SIZES. Ends at lower thigh.

Good jacket for the price! Fur not detachable!
I love the color, waist band and length/fit. Fur is not detachable, but it's easy to cut off without ruining the jacket. Zipper is a bit fussy to click together at the bottom, but I just leave it connected and slip it on.Overall, I'm happy with my new MN coat. The beige color is so cute.

Runs small.
Great quality material, but runs small. I ordered a XXL and it fits like a Large. If you are plus size like me don’t waste your money on it.

Fits large
The zipper is frustrating and hard to use, but the jacket is otherwise a great quality and very warm for 0-20 degree weather.
