Surface cleaner

Currently run a 450litre planted aquarium, alongside a nano tank. The 450litre runs two filters, a Fluval FX4 & a JBL E1501 with a prefilter inline. Up until recently I've been using a small APS 300lph surface skimmer but it just hasn't been able to skim off the surface quick enough and have been finding a thin layer of film build up on the waters surface. Having looked about I purchased this skimmer which has mixed reviews. I liked the idea that I could run it off of the standard pipes for my e1501 canister. The skimmer came, no instructions inside but basic ones on the box, it's not rocket science and took less than two minutes to position in the tank, remove my existing inlet and put this in place. It took abit of fiddling with the red removable adjuster to decide how much flow I wanted through the skimmer Vs the inlet under the water in the tank. I opted for a 50/50 split. So far I am very happy, no surface scum and the skimmers surface is large enough to draw water from the entirety of the tank. Quaility is fine, I'm not sure what people are expecting? Its essentially a large filter inlet with built in skimmer. Very good to be honest. Price point is slightly high for what it is, but not far off. I think £15 or there abouts would be more reasonable but you're paying for the brand name. Worth a buy, just make sure you have a canister that has enough flow.

Easy to install and set up. Quality product does exactly what it needs to in conjunction with a 1000 lph external filter, and i could still use the spray bar with no issues.

It's a very nice well made surface skimmer that does a brilliant job. The 4 starts is because is a little bit bulky for what it is.

Sucks in air expensive for what it is have since purchased an independent electric one does a better job for half the price

AMAZING. Oil slick and debris totally gone. No more tides marks on tank really really good piece of kit. Slid straight onto Juwel 306 hoses with no cutting required

We replaced our pick up with this and fish got stuck behind it and died which we didn’t see until too late. Needless to say our whole tank died. Great value for money. Good size. Obstructive when something gets behind it. Not great for tanks with lips. Not great to clean if tank has lips. Seems to skim well.

I'm either doing something wrong or this unit is unless been in the hobby for years all plumbed in to my 400,litre extnal filter and nothing has cleared from my tank tried to adjust but nothing is clearing

If like me you was looking for something to clean the top of your fish tank's water of it's oily looking surface. then this will do the job to keep it sparkly clean.

Der Skimmer ist der Klassiker von JBL für Aquarien ab 80 cm kann man ihn auch ganz gut verstecken. Er ist nicht schön aber er funktioniert einfach super. Man darf nur nicht vergessen den Schlauchanschluss zu kürzen bei dickeren Schläuchen sonst ist die Funktion etwas eingeschränkt ......

Akvaryumda kaba görünmesi haricinde. Ürün hatalı alt girişi sonuna kadar kapattığımda dahi su yüzeyinde etkin bir emiş sağlamıyor. Çıkartıp alt kısmı söküp delikleri kapattım, biraz emiş sağladı. Fikir güzel fakat görüntü oldukça kaba duruyor. Daha estetik ürünlere yönelin.

Bien reçu l'article dans les temps, en bon état. L'installation est assez simple. Étant donné que j'ai nettoyé la pompe Jbl greenline pour un aquarium de 175l j'ai eu un peu de mal à amorcer mais une fois en fonctionnement impeccable. Avec la tige rouge je peux régler l'aspiration plus dans le haut où plus dans le bas. Je recommande ce produit.
