TP-Link Deco BE9300(3-pack) Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System

A couple of weeks back my broadband provider (Trooli, who are excellent) offered their 2Gbps Pro service as an end of contract upgrade. Working in IT, running servers and moving vast amounts of data, I jumped at the chance. However, that meant completely removing my Google Nest (five of them), all the existing Ethernet cabling and three switches as neither the Nests or switches exceeded gigabit over LAN. After a little research, I decided to go for tri-band Wi-Fi 7 routers, and these ones (the BE9300 variant) just made sense. After some hours in the loft running all the cabling (for Ethernet backhaul), everything was up and running. The management app is fantastic. Easy to set everything up, but also properly in-depth for IT heads like me. After trialling several set ups, I found that the automated 2.4/5/6 mesh is easily the best. Forget separate 6GHz, forget QoS - neither are worth using in a domestic environment. A big plus point is that these routers have proper 2.5G ports. That's essential for backhauling. Their Wi-Fi range is huge too. So, you're reading this because you want to know the real-world speeds these routers are capable of. Of course you do! So here goes... Wi-Fi speed next to any of the routers is 1.8Gbps (on my iPhone Pro Max). LAN speed is unbelievable! Bearing in mind my contract is 2Gbps and the ports/switches are 2.5G, I almost fell off my chair when I ran fast.com on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro... 4.0Gbps. Yep, you read that correctly. 4 gig! So... easy to set up, massively configurable, huge range, blazing LAN speeds. Worth £479 of anyone's money these.

After upgrading my internet speed from 500 to 900 Mbps I was disappointed to only be getting around 600 Mbps with my existing network setup and so went looking for a upgrade on that too. Previously I was using my ISP provided router with an add on mesh network, which worked OK for the time I installed the Mesh but was holding it back. After reading many reviews and watching lots of youtube videos I decided on this Deco System. This can connect directly to the ONT box on the wall and so replaces the ISP router, which is what I wanted. It saves one plug socket and eliminates the loss of connecting a router inbetween. The difference in speed is immense. I can now actually get the full 900 Mbps in the same room as the primary node, and the speed in the others rooms is more than treble what it was before. The wifi is also now much faster in the garden. With the Deco I get 350 Mbps when I was gettign about 15 Mbps before. That is amazing to me. The set up is incredibly easy, I used the same wireless network name and pasword as my previous set up so it meant I did not need to set up any devices again. You have to use a mobile app rather than a PC/laptop which may put some people off, but it is very easy to use. There are many more options in the app to change how things are setup, I'll get to those if I find any problems. The Deco can scan the environment to find the least congested bands to get the best performance, so this will increase the reliability and stability of the system. The only advanced setting I updated was the local IP address and range which meant my NAS would not have to be updated as it uses a static IP address. I cant recommend this system enough, it should be future proof enough for many years to come.

Brilliant system, provides whole house WiFi coverage, seamless mesh network. I’m really impressed with TP Link and this Deco system. Simple to setup, basically just plugged it in and followed the instructions on the App. I had the need to contact TP Link support because as it turned out another device connected to our home WiFi network was faulty causing connection issues. The support I got from their Engineer was exemplary, fast diagnosing the faulty third party device and providing a solution that I could deliver easily. Perfect.

Had been looking for a WiFi extender mesh for some time and had borrowed an older model to get us started. When it cam e to handing that one back I searched for all DECO options which were within budget and this one stood out having WiFi7 technology. Set up out of the box was very easy, with only the first extender needing to me linked to our existing broadband. Once connected all other units automatically connected. The wired connection from our router to the first extender provides near limit speeds and the other two (working from WiFi) offer greater speeds than the previous model. Coverage seems good with signal strength still available at the back end of a large garden and certainly capable of running the all services (sky, netflix, disney etc) in every room. Build quality is good and they don't seem to run very hot. No noise heard and one unit has been mounted to the wall (via 3rd party bracket) with no loss of coverage. Purchased when on offer (less than £200) and certainly worth the money so far.

I mainly got the TP Link Deco XE75 for work, as I needed something more reliable than the router that came from my internet provider. With the old setup, I kept running into issues when trying to access my network remotely, which was frustrating. This system, on the other hand, just worked straight out of the box without any hassle. The difference in WiFi performance has been noticeable. The signal feels much stronger and more consistent throughout the house. Before, I had devices that would struggle to stay connected, especially out in the garden, but that is no longer an issue. Everything stays connected properly now. Setup was straightforward, and once it was running, I did not really have to mess around with it. It just does its job quietly in the background, which is exactly what I wanted. Overall, it has been a solid upgrade for both work and everyday use. If you are relying on a basic router from your provider and having similar issues, this is definitely worth considering.

The TP-Link Deco system offers flexibility with both Access Point (AP) and Router modes. Opting for Router Mode, I strategically placed three Deco units in a triangular formation, ensuring comprehensive coverage across my entire house. Easy Setup Process The setup was straightforward and user-friendly. I connected the primary Deco unit to my ISP’s router using the provided Ethernet cable and followed the instructions in the included leaflet. The Deco app guided me through the process, making it accessible even for those with minimal technical expertise.  Enhanced Wi-Fi Performance With this configuration, my home now enjoys robust Wi-Fi coverage, eliminating dead zones and providing consistent speeds throughout. The Deco system intelligently manages connections, ensuring optimal performance as I move between rooms.

I got these on sale, so am even more pleased, but they've been really easy to use so far. Speeds exactly as promised, i'm using a 1gb fibre line and cat 6a to connect to the router. I live in a house with multiple dead zones due to thick stone walls where 1 router just won't do the job. It's impossible to network with cable as well. Setup was a breeze, after i put in my ISP's uname/password. Now i have strong signal all throughout the house, and even some distance from the main router unit (with multiple jumps from one mesh node to another using wireless backhaul) i am getting full or close to full speeds.

I was really surprised at just how much better this router is to the one that was provided by my ISP. the performance is so much better on Wifi 6E, so if you have devices that are Wifi 6E enabled, you wanna make sure you have a router that takes advantage of that! most ISP's in the UK still provide Wifi 5 routers, even for their gigabit packages! It's fully backwards compatible, none of my smart devices have had any issues connecting to the router. My entire apartment is covered by Wifi from just 1 single unit, the signal extends even quite far outside my apartment and easily connects from outside where my old router would lose signal by the time I got outside. Wifi Speeds are matching what I'd get from Ethernet, generally capping out at about 940mbps (I pay for 900mbps) Really great little router. Very happy I bought it, and I'll never use a crappy ISP router again!

Deco are good. S7s fitted in better than S5s but have moved on to Xs.

The Deco X60 was very easy to install and works very well. It was delivered on schedule as promised. Happy to deal with PCLIVE again
