No, the player comes with Media Suite from Cyber Link for UHD blu-rays

Why is this usb 2.0? will a usb 3.0 drive transfer data faster?

On the Blu-ray/DVD writer optical drive #BP60NB10 the USB 2.0 is more than enough for your Blu-Ray or DVD's. Modern drives will certainly claim USB 3.0 support to make it clear that you can plug them into a USB 3.0 port, however there is little difference when it comes to performance. ^Jennifer

You will need a computer connected to your TV. This optical drive will not work directly on your TV, unless your are just trying to access photo from your midia

Can i use a usb-to-hdmi adapter to play discs on a tv?

You will need a computer connected to your TV. This optical drive will not work directly on your TV via USB. This drive does not have TV connectivity. ^Daphane
