BRANCH BASICS EVERYTHING
Believe me when I say I have spent the past several years buying and trying non-toxic laundry products, and this stuff just works. In fact, after trying the laundry detergent, I tried out the entire branch basics line of cleaning products, and they really are all the best in every category. For years, I overlooked branch basics because I was DETERMINED to find a good, SCENTED, and low/non-tox laundry detergent, but every scented option I tried had either a nauseating scent, little-to-no-scent, &/or didn't clean well.Save yourself the time and money and just buy branch basics everything.w/ love, a millennial mama <3

Scent free
This product cleans great. The product itself has an odor, which I get a whiff of ever-time I pour it into the machine, but leaves nothing behind on the clothes. It comes with a plastic spoon for measuring, but I put mine in a plastic bottle (juice carafe) for easier use and less spilling.I use an HE washer on eco cold and have no problems with it not dissolving. Highly recommend for a scent and toxin free laundry detergent.

Good laundry detergent but messy to use as a stain remover
I stopped using liquid laundry detergent and switched to powder about a year ago. While I’m very familiar with powder detergents, I’d never tried Branch Basics’ laundry detergent before. I am familiar with the brand and had a good experience with their all-purpose spray, so I thought I’d give their laundry detergent a try.Like my other powder laundry detergent, it was very easy to use. You just pour anywhere from ¾ of a scoop to 2 full scoops in your laundry drum before adding your clothes. The amount you use will depend on how large/dirty the load of clothes you’re washing is. In addition to being easy to use, this Branch Basics detergent also did a good job of getting rid of the stains on my clothes (they were mainly toothpaste and deodorant stains with a few food stains mixed in). It did struggle with a few of the food stains (it got them like 90% out). However, those were pre-existing stains that didn’t come out when I initially washed them using my other powder detergent so the Branch Basics powder actually did what my other detergent couldn’t do.I want to point out that I did also use the powder to pretreat the stains first before I put my clothes in the washing machine. As a result, I can’t speak to whether or not the stains would’ve come out with me just throwing the powder in the machine and not pre-treating anything. However, I’ve found that most of the time you have to pretreat stains no matter what detergent you use. While this powder works great as a laundry detergent and stain remover, I did take a star off because it’s kind of a pain to use it as a stain remover. I followed the directions that were on the back of the bag for pre-treating stains: “Sprinkle directly on stain and spray Branch Basics All-Purpose to saturate powder. Agitate and let sit 5-10 minutes. Do not allow to dry on fabric. Soak if necessary. Wash.” However, I found that whenever I sprayed the all-purpose cleaner over the powder (like the instructions say to), it either blew the powder onto a different area of the shirt (away from the stain) or it just got my shirt really wet and didn’t do anything to dissolve the powder. Since the all-purpose spray wasn’t really dissolving the powder, big powder pieces kept getting stuck in the bristles of the brush I was using to scrub the stains. It also made quite a mess. For background, I normally pretreat my laundry on my bedroom floor. After using the Branch Basics powder to pretreat my clothes, I had to go back and vacuum my room since it left powder all over my carpet. Even though it was a bit of a pain to use and was fairly messy, I am happy with how good of a job it did getting rid of the stains. This is definitely more of a luxury laundry detergent and will be a bit of an investment especially for anyone who has a large family or does a lot of laundry. This Branch Basics detergent is about $0.50 per load (it was listed for $89 when I ordered it and came with two 90 load bags). This price is definitely on the higher end when it comes to powder laundry detergents. That being said, I love the clean ingredients and am very impressed with how well it worked!

Eczema Approved
This laundry detergent does a VERY good job of getting tough stains out. Even got some very old fish blood out of a shirt; soaked in white vinegar for a day then used this detergent and it looked brand new. My husband gets eczema pretty bad and easily to soaps; currently thinking bout using their handsoap as a bodywash for him because any bar of soap breaks him out. When i was using the gentle line in tide for laundry detergent, he broke out allll over. My sister in law is quite a low toxic household and recommended this brand and their detergent. His eczema cleared up completely after a week. He felt so much better and confident again. This laundry detergent is quite expensive, could be worse though, i am grateful how well it cleans. One scoop for a large load is genuinely enough; trust me. One bag lasts about 1 month for a 2 person household.

Works great, no overwhelming fragrances. I was skeptical at the cleaning power since it's such a simple recipe, but clothes come out clean and fresh. Glad to get away from the chemicals in our house.

Expensive, but you get a lot of detergent, and a trustworthy brand.
I am very attracted to the Branch Basics brand, as I suspect, are a lot of other people. Their branding, design, and message are all superbly on point. The packages are simple and pretty... easy to read and understand. Their products all seem part of a clearly uniform family, with some interoperability when possible. You typically get A LOT of product in one purchase. Being unable to chemically analyze the product, I really can't say whether or not this is just the same old soap products that are made in the same old factories, but given a beautiful new brand to wrap them up. All I can say is that they products do work well, and I do trust that they are what they say they are. There is no doubt that Branch Basics is pretty expensive. You are paying for that well-designed branding for sure. However, they give you a lot of product for your money, and thus far everything I have bought from them has lived up to the promise. Here you get a lot of detergent, but the price is pretty darned high for me. These bags should last my family a long time. I LOVE that the Branch Basics products stress simplicity and LACK of extra scents and perfumes. We do have a couple of people in my family with sensitive skin, and this detergent seems to work very well for them.
