Great Taste, But Don’t Forget They’re Also A Good Protein Source That’s Easy On Calcium And Sodium!
***Update: I’m not sure if there has been some sort of supply chain issue or what but the last several boxes of this I’ve bought from Amazon have been desiccated. Seriously, the first box I got from Stryve through Amazon the Biltong sticks were so juicy and flavorful but the ones from the last several boxes were so dry they crumbled apart as I was eating them. Is there a reason for this drastic negative change? Is the company trying to clear out old stock and hoping that no one noticed? What’s the deal?***I think these have a better taste than the regular biltong (which is great too) and less sodium per ounce. My only complaint is that I have to limit myself to one biltong stick a day due to cost even though they’re worth it.I tend to eat a lot of protein snack foods for nutritional reasons and a problem that I run into is that many protein snacks end up being high in calcium and/or sodium because manufacturers are trying to enhance their taste without negatively impacting their macros too much. They usually just add salt or use dairy/dairy protein in the product to accomplish better taste with good macros. They often succeed, but I have to place a disappointingly low limit on the number of protein snacks I can eat in a day because otherwise I’ll overload on sodium or calcium (I don’t want the health problems that come with too much of either in your diet). These beef biltong sticks are great precisely because for being a beef-based snack they’re relatively low in sodium and no calcium. I don’t really have this problem with them which means they always make my snack list for the day.Just a tip out there for other people trying to maximize protein without any of the baggage!

This is droewers, *not* biltong, as another reviewer noted
I am really unhappy with this. Another reviewer noted that it is not actually biltong, but droewers. I had to look up biltong before I bought this and while I wasn't sure it would work out for me, biltong is what I was expecting. I also had to look up droewers when Stefan Mueller pointed out that is what this is, and I wouldn't have ordered that as it actually sounds about as awful as this garbage is.I am not even sure I will actually be able to stomach any more of it. I'm very definitely going to be extremely skeptical of Stryve from now on. I really like the idea of very low fat, low salt, and no sugar, with high protein content. But trying to force this crap down just isn't worth it, even for under $1.50 per 15 grams of protein. And shame on Stryve for misabeling this as something it is not.

Know what you're getting into
I think it's important to know that this product is not a soft/chewy ground meat in a casing product. If you're expecting something like a beef stick from Tillamook Country Smoker or CHOMPS - this is NOT that. As mentioned in other reviews, these are a bit dry with a "snappy" casing. I'd liken it to taking a bunch of nearly completely cured biltong and chopping it up into small pieces, then rolling it in a casing and allowing it to dry/cure completely. Sort of like a delicious biltong cigar. The casing is more of a container/delivery system. The flavor is fantastic. If you like a lttle heat - I suggest you try the "Spicy Peri Peri" version.

Very good jerky!!
I’ve been eating these for years but the prices have gone through the roof as of late. They use to have a barbecue flavor that was a favorite in my family but Stryve doesn’t seem toMake them anymore for some reason. Great protein snack with NO SUGAR.

Good but. . .
Really liked the flavor and texture. I went to go buy some more as a present for a friend of mine though and the price doubled since my last order (just two weeks had passed). While it was good, it's definitely not worth the price now for the amount you get.

Different every time...inconsistent product
We have been buying Struve for a little while and the first couple times we bought it it was good and juicy. Another time we bought it it was super greasy and left that film feeling on the roof of your mouth. Then times we have bought it it was super dry and falling apart. The most recent order we bought: I opened the first one and it was so spicy. I thought I had bought the wrong one.The production of this products recipe is very inconsistent. I don’t know why I keep hoping for the best and it changes every time. Feeling dissatisfied. Especially the spicy one which my kids won’t eat this batch. Looking for answers on why it’s so inconsistent.

Great droewors snack
This is currently my favorite droewors and I have tried a few. I am not from South Africa and was introduced to biltong and droewors only a few years ago. I came to prefer droewors. I like all flavors, although I always return to the 'original' one after a while. It is rather subtle and very different to anything else of beef nature offered as a snack in the USA. But once I figured the flavor out (and understood the process of preparation), there was no going back - I now prefer good droewors to any beef jerky I ever tasted. Highly recommended.

Purchased for my Diabetic Son
I've got to say I'm not a huge fan of the taste of these since they're a tad fatty and don't have as much flavor as I'd like. However, they aren't for me. I purchased them for my diabetic temporary son to have with his cold lunch on the days he can't each school lunch because it's too carby, and for that they work great. They make the perfect addition to his lunch or an after school snack since there's virtually no carbs for him to have to worry about he can just grab it and go. It took him a bit to adjust to the taste, but they're definitely a go to for him now.
