Great Bed. Great Service. Great Team.
Before buying this bed, I read the reviews. I called Greatime to ask about older reviews. I spoke with Sunny/Sonny(?).He assured me that the bed's design had been reworked to address structural issues previously brought to their attention. For, example, they strengthened the platform around the bed to accommodate heavier customers. They also added an additional section of slats for the King and Cal King models to prevent any under-mattress shifting during heavy play : )You will want a friend to be available to help you move the boxes into your home. They are heavy and bulky. But, it is those heavy and bulky pieces that make this bed sturdy and also have that heavy duty look and feel. You will need an electric / cordless drill with Phillips bit. Without it, you will not be able to attach the bed's feet. Assembly time will be reduced by 60% in using it to drive the bolts as well.Set aside a Saturday if assembling this alone. Half a day with assistance. Play some music, read the directions carefully and follow them exactly. Stop and take breaks. You will get through it : ) When installing the slats, remember to loosen the corner bolts to allow movement to accommodate the placement of the slats and slat framing. IMPORTANT - Do not install the slat clips into the cross or side frames until you have the slats inserted into the clips. Removing the slat clips once they are snapped in is nearly impossible. Follow the directions. Once you have the slats all clipped in, then go back and tighten the frame's corner bolts while adjusting for outer frame alignment/looks/symmetry.I ordered the white version of the Cal King. I wanted the bed's feet to be white like the rest of the bed. Thus, I spent $4 on a can of white spray paint and painted the feet white the day before assembly (non-lacquer for faster drying). As far as the color, Greatime kindly sent me phone pics of the shade of white by placing a white tissue over the bed frame. My pure white furniture is a shade lighter, but with sheets and pillows and all else in the room, you would have to be an anal idiot to notice or even care. If anyone notices or comments, disown them.Good luck! You will want an 8" mattress. This is the size that appears in the online photos.

Beautiful product for a great price
This is very well engineered product that feels solid and looks great. My wife was worried that the white vinyl would look kind of cheesy, but it looks like leather. It probably will not last for decades, but for the price, if it lasts for 10 years I won't feel bad about giving it to goodwill and getting something else. There is something that is kind of liberating about the price. This bed replaced a Stickley mission style bed frame that cost an arm and a leg... that thing aint going to goodwill. The product comes in several boxes and the delivery guy was nice enough to help me carry them into the garage where i could unbox and inspect the pieces. The product was well wrapped and protected. You may have seen from other reviews that the instructions are merely a picture without written words... I am attaching a picture so you can see them. I put the bed together myself in about 2 hours with a minimal amount yelling, however, it did take some muscle and another hand would have made things a bit easier.Something you need to think about with this bed is it is very low to the ground and if you are not used to that it will take some adjustment. The bed frame is only a couple of inches off of the floor so if you have a 10 inch mattress... well you can do the math. I think this is a function of the modern style. I purchased the Braxton upholstered bedside table along with this and it matches perfectly

a pain to assemble
i have assembled many pieces of furnitures throughout my life, this mattress, by far is one of the toughest i have worked on. because of the size and weight of each piece, it requires a lot of muscle to put the pieces together. worst yet, once you assemble the frames together, to install the L shape wooden piece at each corner of the bed frame, you have to lift the entire frame up and screw the wooden piece onto the bed frame.i bought this frame because i wanted my house to have a modern feel to it. Quiet frankly, after spending almost 4 hours to put everything together, the bed frame does look nice, and i cannot wait to buy a nice mattress to put it onto the frame, but the installation part was simply a pain*update as 7/3/16After buying a mattress and putting it on, as you can see from the picture below, the bed looks quiet nice and spacious. definitely plan to keep it for a long time, :-)*update 12/25/17I moved into another house recently, so i had to disassemble and reassemble the bed frame. im not sure if the leather has been stretched or something, but the 2nd time was much easier compare to the first time. I was able to disassemble and assemble all the pieces by myself.

Very attractive platform bed. Very well constructed except for one thing.
I've had the bed for two months now. I really like it. It matches perfectly with my all Asian Motif Bedroom. It's heavy and well made. Not too hard to assemble. Delivery took a long time. BUT....the companythat sells the bed, emailed me several times about my delivery. GREAT SERVICE.I have an Asian print comforter. Looks great. I bought a 10 inch memory foam mattress for it.It is higher than the sides of the bed. You may want to buy an 8 inch or even a 6 inch memory foam mattressso it will be the same height as the padded sides of the bed. But I like mine above the sides.I bought my mattress from Amazon: Modway Aveline 10" Gel Infused Memory Foam.I'm very happy with it.UPDATE: Used for 6 months now. A PROBLEM: There are 'legs' that support the middle of the bed. These legs have completely failed. So, a few slats have come out and the bed sags in the middle. At first I thought it was the memory foam mattress.I'm going to fix it myself and cut some pieces of 1 x 4 and prop up the middle 'beam' in several places.......four or five places should do it.This is a definite mfg failure to make these legs stronger and more of them. And NO!.....I don't use my bed like a trampoline. Also, I'm single, if you get my jest. I would still buy this bed, but the MFG has to fix this problem.
