Well, this is a different company providing the minis then the last few times I’ve ordered a bag. With Country Archer suppling my orders the bags were stamped on average about a year out. You can order directly from the company and take advantage of the full array of flavors and sizes. Just a thought.

Does the citric acid in these come from a corn source?

The ingredients mentioned no corn syrup.

Are there nitrates in these? It doesn't specify in ingredients but most other brands specify "no nitrates".

It contains celery powder and cherry powder, which have naturally-occurring forms of nitrates. During digestion these will be processed into nitrites. When an item claims "no nitrates" they are usually referring specifically to sodium nitrate. Sodium nitrate amounts are regulated, these substitutes aren't.

How spice are these on a one-not spicy to five-very spicy scale?

I love spicy food and my son doesn’t. We both love these!!! So good....I would say amazing flavor and low on the spicy....so scrumptious!
