**Works well to keep salt cell clean but beware of the Phosphates in it
I got this stuff when we got our new pool a year and a half ago and have been using it to mostly keep my salt cell from getting calcium buildup and blowing out white flakes into the pool. We have a fibreglass pool and our calcium levels have to be a bit higher according to the manufacturer. It works well. What I didn’t realise until recently is that it contains phosphates and I have been battling with high phosphate levels ( I know, there is no consensus on whether to remove phosphates, every pool professional has different opinions) for the last year, spending money on phosphate removal products while unknowingly adding phosphates. I stopped using this a month ago and my phosphate levels are way down.I just bought the Bioguard Salt scapes Scale defender and I’m going to see how that works as it supposedly does not contain phosphates according to a local rep.

Works to keep water balanced.
Jacks Magic products do what they are supposed to do. Period. Slightly pricier than other brands, but worth every penny because they work.

Reason to use
This product was first used by the pool service to clean mineral staining from pool finish. It is now used bi weekly or monthly to maintain pool finish and keep mineral staining to a minimum. The only issue we have had is that is causes phosphates to reach high levels which causes algae problems and the pool requires a periodic phosphate treatment by the pool service

Works good, lightened the stain 80%.
22,000 gallon saltwater pool, used 2 bottles, lightened the brown stain by 80%. I probably need to use 1 more bottle maybe 2. I liked the product, the stain was pretty bad unfortunately. Would not hesitate to use again.

Helps with calcium carbonate flakes from salt cell
For the past two months in the Florida summer since the water has been hot and I also have a new finish in my pool I have been getting massive amounts of white flakes a.k.a. calcium carbonate from the salt cell. After dosing the pool with 2 quarts recommended per the bottle for problematic pools about two weeks later I have absolutely no white flakes blowing out of all my jets you can see it in one of the pictures. Worth every penny will continue to buy. Pool store wants almost $40 for one quart. The pool guy did explain to me though that the higher pH from the new finish and the 90+ degree water causes this more severe reaction in the salt cell so he said it shouldn’t be a problem in the winter With cooler water unless we’re running the heater. 10/10 would recommend as normal maintenance to a salt pool to help extend the life of the cell and prevent buildup on the cell.
