... am in my third trimester and I'm having the worse time with swelling
I bought these maternity compression socks because I am in my third trimester and I'm having the worse time with swelling. My OBGYN and my husband both have been bothering me to purchase a pair. I have never owned a pair of compression socks and I had no idea how tight they would be (which is the whole point). Having the included sock thing that goes over your toes to help get the compression socks on has been a life saver for me due to my big baby bump getting in the way. I do have to adjust the bottom bands near my toes when my swelling gets bad because it starts to hurt, but overall they have worked great to keep my swelling down. I am 5'3 and I have muscular calf muscles and with the extra swelling in my legs I decided to get a size Large and they work great. Be sure to measure your calf and use the sizing chart because I almost got a size medium which would have been too small. Good quality product.

See instructions for putting them on, careful of irritation when sitting too long
I got these to wear on the long flight to Hawaii for my babymoon...I wore them and also got up at least once an hour, which wasn't a problem since I of course had to go to the bathroom a lot due to midwife's orders to stay hydrated during flight. These stockings were comfortable enough once I got them on, except they really hurt the skin above my ankles...when you sit (especially in a cramped plane), your feet are kind of flexed, and so these stockings press down on the skin how it is. When I took them off, I had deep red irritation marks on the tops of my ankles from where my feet had been "wrinkled" (since they were not stretched out) and these dug in. To be fair, it happened (to a lesser degree) with the slightly lower compression stockings I got, too (wore those on the return flight). But it was pretty painful! I tried to stretch out my feet/ankles but it's kind of difficult when sitting.Getting these on for the first time was quite an ordeal, until I saw the little card with instructions. That made a HUGE difference! So definitely don't make my mistake, and look at the instructions first. :-)I don't regret getting these because they made me feel better about taking such a long flight, and I like that they seem to have serious compression. Just try to keep your feet stretched out (not at a right angle to your shin) and read the instructions before putting them on!

Warning: Not suitable for flying! Causes painful swelling in toes!
Do not wear these socks on long flights (over an hour). I bought them prior to a European vacation, because my doctor recommended that I get compression socks for the flight to reduce the risk of blood clots, because I was 5 months pregnant. I also thought that the open toes would be convenient for me to wear comfortable shoes. During the flight I noticed that my sandals were becoming painful, so I had to take them off. After we landed, I could barely squeeze my feet into my sandals, and painfully walked to retrieve my bag where I had a pair of flat canvas shoes (with stretchy material) that I could change into. I was so shocked at how my toes had swollen outside of the compression socks, that I decided to take before and after photos on my return flight home the next week. The first two pictures are of my feet before the flight (both with and without sandals), and the second two are after the flight. The difference is clearly visible. I've considered returning them because I was so disappointed and they caused me a lot of pain and discomfort, but I am not sure they will take them back because I have used them. These socks may be good for day-to-day wear, say if you need to wear them to work in the later months of pregnancy. This is the only reason I did not give them a lower rating. They are made of good quality material, and I could tell that they were supporting my lower legs, just not my toes. They should, however, warn people that they are not suitable for flying!

NOT EASY TO PUT ON/TAKE OFF; TEXTURE SOMEWHAT COARSE
It's possible that a larger size would have been easier to put on and to take off, but I regret to say that I found this brand socks difficult to handle. And it's also possible that young pregnant women are stronger than a senior retiree like myself, and perhaps they wouldn't have my issues with them. While the mesh seems very strong and may be just the thing a pregnant woman's legs need, I found the texture of this tightly knitted material a bit coarse and somewhat scratchy.Since the positive reviews for these compression socks far outnumber those that are negative, I can only conclude that I must have weird legs, and that my fingers and hands are simply too weak to work this extremely springy material. .

A 'must buy' for swollen legs
This is my second pregnancy and of course nothing is the same as the first. I started swelling early around 17 weeks due to some health problems and my legs looked like elephant legs! I bought a pair of sport compression socks but they were hard to get on (my husband had to do it!) and did nothing for the swelling. I bought these maternity compression socks and I was so impressed! The foot sock really helps me get them on myself. Hooray for independence! They bring the swelling down evenly and smoothly and they are comfortable! I like that they are toeless so I can wear flip flops with them this summer. I love these compression socks and would definitely recommend them to other pregnant mamas!

Helped with leg cramps
I was getting leg cramps all through the night, during my pregnancy, and someone suggested maternity compression socks. I tried these. I made sure to measure my calf before i ordered and used their guidelines to order the size. The size fits and since I've started wearing them i haven't gotten the leg cramps. If you use the thing that came with them, getting them on isn't too difficult, but getting them off takes a little effort, especially because, you know, pregnancy. It's awful it's summer and these socks are very warm, but I'll take being warm over leg cramps all night, any day.

Very effective
Good points:- Really works in combatting the swelling.- No toes, so your feet don't get sweaty and you don't need to wash the stockings very often. Not so good:- The colour - in fairness I think all support stockings suffer from this - it's clearly not easy to get a genuine flesh colour!! But why not supply a range, so the fair-skinned and the dark-skinned are also catered for?- Quite hard work to get on!Helpful hints:- Choosing the right size is important. Apparently the size guide is in the images accompanying the text on Amazon - not at all obvious, and easy to miss.- It is hard work getting the stocking over your heel (obviously the stockings don't have as much give as ordinary tights, that's the point of them). I found sitting with my ankle resting on the other knee (so I was putting the stocking on at a sort of side angle) worked best. And you need to make sure you keep your thumbs tucked inside the stocking as you pull them on, or it's game over! The pack includes a 'sock aid' which I think is supposed to help the stocking glide over your feet - I didn't use it, but maybe it would be useful if you have rough or dry skin. The manufacturer will also email you a guide on how to get the stockings on. But it's pretty much the same as for a pair of tights, just takes more effort!

Good product!
I received the stockings and struggled to put them on the first time and wasn't sure if it was worth the trouble. The next day, I received an email from the seller with instructions on how to use the sock aid (I had no idea how to use it and for some reason the delivery did not include instructions). It really made a difference and putting the stockings on was much easier! The swelling in my feet and legs have gone down. I wouldn't suggest sleeping in them but definitely useful to have on the hours before you go to bed.I'm a size UK 3 and the S/M only just fit me, with the heel not always easy to position correctly. If your feet are quite swollen or you are a couple of sizes bigger than me, I would suggest you get a size L.

Well made well priced maternity compression sock!
I have been getting really sore heels (currently only 24 weeks pregnant!) and had done some googling to see what might help - compression seemed like a good option. Found these socks and have been really pleased they turned up on time are well made and a good fit (make sure you use the fitting guide on the page) they fit snuggly but are comfortable and I have them on 0730 until about 2100 with no problem and they don't tend to move much either which is good. The 'sock on' device is excellent and makes popping them on nice and easy. A well made well priced sock that has definitely helped my circulation.

far superior.
These are a must for pregnant women with leg pain or circulation issues. I had two months of sleepless nights and after just a few hours with these compression stockings I was able to sleep pain-free. Don't bother with the drugstore version. These are far, far superior.

Great purchase!
These are proving very helpful! I've had some serious foot/ankle/calf swelling in later pregnancy and these definitely lessen the swelling and discomfort. I received an email with instructions on how to put them on which was helpful (definitely utilize the provided nylon sock thing!). I have pretty average calves I think and I got large, which seems a good fit.
