I was really disappointed with the flimsy piece of junk remote that came with my Visio TV so I decided to get a new remote for it and thought that the keyboard on the back would be awesome. I have to be honest, I did try several different brands which did not work with my TV. Although the keyboard would have been awesome, I pretty much gave up looking for one with a keyboard on the back until I came across this remote. For less than 10 bucks, I would have been happy it the keyboard didn't work as I pretty much figured that my TV just doesn't get along with that feature. Actually, I considered that on the second one that I purchased from another manufacturer but I just wanted something that did the basic things like the original remote and the other two didn't even provide that. I figured that going cheap wasn't the way until I came across this.I guess 3rd time was charm! All the basic features work perfectly and lo and behold... so does the keyboard! I will update this review if anything happens but so far, I would have paid 3 times as much for a remote with the functions that this provides.I have read through a lot of reviews on this remote and would like to run through a couple of complaints that I have seen. Someone complained that it didn't come with batteries. Believe me, if you buy a remote for less than 10 bucks you do NOT want batteries to come with it! How many times have you put cheap batteries in something only to find that they leaked with the potential of destroying the unit?It did not come with instructions which kind-of teed me off a bit because there are buttons that don't do anything and seem to be there only for appearance. Yup, this was never advertised as a "programmable" remote so why would someone need instructions? There are dummy buttons on the remote to make it more visually appealing but they don't do jack. It's a $10 remote people! If you knew how to use the old remote that came with your TV, or any remote in general, you will intuitively know how to use this remote.All in all, I am super pleased with this purchase. It is built way better than the original remote that came with my TV and has all of the functions plus some than the original. If this thing keeps working I plan on ordering a protective skin for it. Not because I feel like it needs it but because after 2 previous tries to find a working remote for my TV, I don't want to take any chances.If things change I will change my review but as of now, this is money well spent!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this remote. I “lost” the first remote that I bought separately (which was why I bought THAT one...we also lost the original). As soon as this recent remote was delivered, I found the last one I bought; my husband was sitting on it.So now we have the original remote that’s tucked away in case we lose either of these...and now we both have our own remote. It can get complicated when we are both trying to find something to watch at the same time. I’m surprised our tv still works.So to keep the remotes looking nice and performing well, I put each in their own ziplock sandwich bag, where they fit nice and snug. I cut off a bit over half an inch from the side of the remote, folded the plastic down like wrapping a gift, and taped the baggie along the side. The remotes work great, I’ve dropped them several times on a hardwood floor without shattering, and they feel comfortable in the hand. When the remote needs a new battery, I remove the wrap, change the battery and place it in a new sandwich baggie. Another advantage to wrapping the remote in plastic is that I can search for it in the dark among other remotes and find it immediately.The only thing I don’t like about any of these remotes - including the one that came with the tv - is the fact that we cannot program the top three shortcut buttons. I do use the Amazon and Netflix buttons, but the original remote had “heart radio” for the third button, and these remotes have an “Mgo” button - whatever that is. We never used the last shortcut button on any of the remotes, but it would be nice if we could decide what to select as our shortcut buttons. I would’ve added YouTube as the last choice. If anyone has figured a way to make the three shortcut buttons programmable, I’d love to hear it.If you’re considering buying this remote for your Visio tv, pull the pin. Mash that Add-to-Cart button and order it. You won’t be disappointed. I love them so much that I’m planning on replacing my TVs with another Visio if/when they break, just so we can continue to use our remotes.I would recommend this remote to anyone who owns a Visio, whether they’ve lost their original remote or not.

A Great Replacement Remote For The One That Came With My Television. The Keyboard On The Back Makes Things Much Easier. The Remote Appears Precisely Like In The Photos, Functions As Expected (If Not Better). Certainly A Solid Purchase

Wish it came with instructions and sometimes the keyboard doesn't work for some reason. But we needed a remote for a vizio tv that we got for free from my mother and it was cheap and works.

I bought this remote for two of my Vizio's because the remote they came with was crap. Vizio has decided to incorporate the main select button into the up, down, right, and left arrows buttons. So now it's one button for 5 functions and the result is when you try to press the select button to pause, it usually either goes up or down instead if you don't hit it just right. Hell, it does it even if you do hit it just right and it gets old real fast. This is more like the original remote and the center select button is separate from the arrow keys, a much better design. It also has a keyboard on the back which makes searching so much easier as opposed to arrowing all over the place for the right letters. A good remote at a real good price. I bought two and threw the ones that came with the TV's in the trash where they belong. Lastly, no programming required if it's a Vizio TV, just put batteries in and you're good to go.
