A/C Pro Certified Auto Car Air Conditioner Test Thermometer, Diagnose A/C

I'm really pleased with this automotive thermometer that I use for checking my work when I repair automotive AC systems. It's pretty self-explanatory with how it works but you just stick it in whichever vent is blowing air to see the temperature of the air. I just reference google to see what the AC temp should be when I start refilling the system with refrigerant. This could also be used in residential HVAC systems. I prefer this style thermometer over a laser thermometer because these are more accurate and it's easy to get an incorrect reading with a laser thermometer. This thermometer was a great value and is a must for any mechanic.

I bought this to replace my last one that got lost. You can actually pull the thermometer out and test steaks on the grill with it! I really like this thermometer to test my ac temperature output. In the past Ive owned cars where the ac doesnt blow as cold as I know it should. If you dont have a reference, then the auto repair man often times will act like youre crazy and "seems to be blowing cold air to me" with the hand test. HOW cold? Thats the question. My old acura tl wouldnt get this gauge down past 60 or 55 degrees on a hot day at best. This gauge helped quantify how weak the compressor was when taking it in for service. For reference: a good automotive ac should send this thermometer down to under 45 degrees within a minute or two. 40 is ideal. I live in Texas by the way. I had a Lexus that would make it hit 35 degrees easily out of the vent. Toyota ac's are SOLID. When I bought my Lexus used I put this gauge in on a test drive since it seemed like the ac wasnt quite as cool as it should be. It was slight, but I noticed. Thankfully this gauge verified it: barely 50 degrees was as low as it would go. I told them to check the ac and fix it before I would buy it. They did and it blew 35 degrees the rest of the time I owned it. Well worth the $7!!

Works decent enough. The numbers can be a little hard to see for old eyes!

This is helpful for diagnosing AC problems. It reads accurate. I like the analog style because it doesn’t need batteries. It fits nicely in my pocket protector too.

Good to have when charging your cars A/C or just to check the current temp.

Just topped up my Nissan Note E11 diesel AC with this in the vent. AC R134A pressure topped up to 40psi. Vent thermometer went from 46-48F to 40F right in the middle of the green zone
