desertcart.com : 18 Pack - Liriope 'Variegated' Grass : Patio, Lawn & Garden

Review: Very healthy and beautiful - I ordered this pack of 18 Liriopes on desertcart because I didn’t want to wait until spring when this plant is usually sold in my local nurseries. Since they are perennial, evergreen in my plant zone 7B, they can be planted during winter time. They came already bigger than I was expecting. They look very healthy with long roots, and the price is right. I waited for over 2 weeks before planting them because we have the show storm here in NC. They are absolutely beautiful and healthy.
Review: Healthy Loripe Plants - The loripe came well packaged and plants were slightly moist. Because of that, they were in great shape. I planted them and noticed that fertilizer was added to the planting mix. I would definitely buy from this vendor again,

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How far apart should should each of the 18 "trays" be planted to result in a seamless row at maturity (i.e. along the bottom of a fence)?**
A: In good sunlight, liropes will get quite large. I have some that have grown to 18-20 inches in diameter. Every other year, I split them to reduce crowding and to keep them healthy. In less sunlight, it takes much more time to get to that size, if ever. I rarely split those in shade, so they only grow to about 12" in diameter.

**Q: Will it grow in full sun, salt air from ocean, 65 degree average temperature?**
A: If you are planting them in the southern US, they will probably do fine. My garden is in Northern WA state and our summer temps were in the 80s. Even with adequate water, it was not enough. The plants are also subject to predation by deer and rabbits. I have lost almost all of the 100 plants I put in the ground. Not recommended for northern gardens where wildlife is around.

**Q: In what zones is it cold hardy?**
A: These are hardy in zones 6-10

**Q: If I purchase now, can I keep them indoors until last frost-April?**
A: Hi there, first off, we will have them available pretty much all year. So there is actually no rush to get them. However, if you prefer to purchase them now, they are actually quit cold tolerant and don't mind a little frost. But to be on the safe side, they can be held in a cool, relatively bright space. A garage, shed, sun room or greenhouse will work.
Right now the plants are still in winter mode and have been cut back. They will flush out as soon as it warms up.
I hope this helps.
