3 in 1 Ankle Wrap (PW170) Hot/Cold Therapy

I was in an accident where I was run over by a Jeep Wrangler. This resulted in breaking my fibula (the smaller of the 2 bones in the lower leg) in 5 places and my tibia (the larger of the 2 bones in the lower leg) shot out of the side of my ankle. A year an a half after the accident I have struggled with the pain and inflammation in my ankle. I have used ice packs and heating pads but I have not been able to get to a point where I can start rebuilding the muscle in calf and ankle. I have had this product for 2 days now and it has made a world of difference for me. The ankle wrap is set up so that it conforms well to the ankle and the heating/cooling is applied right where I need it. I am already walking better and I'm in much less pain. I would advise anyone that is struggling with pain and inflammation due to injury to give this product a shot.

The physical design and manufacture of this wrap is excellent. The problem is that the heat generation is very poor. It barely heats. I checked the voltage output of the AC Adapter which is rated at 12V and it is. Using an infrared thermometer, I measured the temperature of the heating element surface at the highest setting after 15 minutes and it was 94 degrees; the manual said it was supposed to nbe 122 F., One other customer noted that you could do better with a pale of hot water. It is too bad because otherwise the unit is well made. This heating pad works wonders with my sore ankle. I use it almost daily. The Velcro wrap censure that he has placed exactly where you want it. The court could be a little bit longer, but not that big a deal. Highly recommended.

Your opinion of this product will most likely depend upon the purpose for which you purchase it. Although described as providing "Hot/Cold Therapy" I found that it provides comforting warmth, rather than therapeutic heat. Others have had the same complaint. Part of the problem is consumer safety; older people are frequently less-sensitive to heat, and can burn themselves by leaving heat on too long. As a result, manufacturers limit the heat generated by their products. I did not check the temperature of the TherMedic, but I would be surprised if it was over 130 degrees on the highest setting.The product is well-made, nicely packaged, and comes with a good instruction manual. The 3 way control has nice LEDs, and the heat shuts off after 30 minutes.I suspect that those wanting 30 minutes of comforting warmth will be very happy with this product for a long time. I was looking for heat therapy to reduce bruising and swelling (see photo) and found it less effective than hot gel packs.

The manufacturer claims that it is a great product. My experience is it doesn't hold any temperature, cold or hot! Not worth the price.

I have arthritis in my ankle due to a traumatic injury. I use this wrap for a half hour almost every evening and it really helps my ankle feel better and relax. Sometimes my foot will cramp when I am falling asleep, but seems less likely to do so if I use the wrap. It is very easy to use. I put it on and turn it on and it turns off in 30 minutes. I started with the middle heat setting, but now I use the higher setting. I typically use it over a sock.

Seems to help but not sure if it will ultimately relieve the outstanding condition of a strained Achilles tendon. Time, as always, will tell.

Didn't use this product. I received it and then ended up with another product that worked for me. This product looked well made and the return process was very easy going. They even reached out to me to make sure I didn't have any issues.
