I now am coaching my ten year old son's team. This board is great. It's really hard to find the perfect board, you will always have some trade-offs. And this board isn't perfect, but it's definitely one of the best I've used. It's solid plastic for one (it doesn't use that crappy compressed fiber board that falls apart when it gets wet), it has a strong solid clip for your papers, it has a nice bag to keep the provided marker (it's big enough to add another marker or a pen too), and my favorite part is the double field layout. One side has the full field where I can show my team the formation we should be using. And the reverse side is a closer view of half field, I use this to show my team how our set plays should work. First, the pen holder isn't great - but if I could find a clipboard penholder that was, it'd be a first. Not a big deal. Second, the green field color is easier for players to conceptualize than if it were all-white with colored lines.
