Safety first! This is a better approach to taking out the 1911 main spring.
My initial thoughts is that this is a great tool for 1911's with a full length guide rod. I have launched the 1911 guide rod spring twice and realized that doing so can be very dangerous. So I stumbled on this device and decided to give it a try.... and it worked as intended. The spring is contained once the barrel bushing releases it. So from a design stand point I give it two thumbs ups and an upgrade over a standard bushing wrench.About durability.... the material is not as hard as the one that came with my Para Ordnance Elite Pro. But it is hard enough. I suspect that wear will become an issue at some point. But for the cost I feel that I can better avoid an accident since this gives the user better control when breaking down the 1911. If it wears down I will just buy another. But I do take care of my gear so I will take care of it like everything else.Plus its light and small enough to throw in your range bag.... last thing you want is a spring flying 20 feet out on the range!I hope this helps!

Does a Great job but....
This works VERY well and it's easy to grip and you can put the tool on the counter and push the gun into it vertically pushing down on the 1911. BUT it's polymer. I used it once and I can see the polymer ALREADY after 1 use starting to get chewed. This isn't the manufacturer's fault as this will happen in EVERY polymer tool. So it won't last forever. BUT polymer won't scratch your 1911, steel could. There's the tradeoff - polymer that isn't as durable but won't scratch and you may eventually need to replace it (not the end of the world bc they don't totally break the bank) OR buy steel shaped traditionally that isn't as stable on the 1911 and might scratch the 1911. Also the bushing cap has less surface area to touch on a traditional one where this one there is a lot of surface area so the bushing cap and spring won't slip off. I will see how long it lasts before getting too chewed up.Overall you can't go wrong with this new design.

Works great for my 1911!
I find using the standard 1911 bushing tools to be far less than suitable. The first time I used this Lynx Tool I was very pleased in the ease of completing the task of breaking down the 1911.But what makes it even better is the ease it offers in reassembly too!I am happy with my purchase and time will tell how well it holds up to frequent use. I am confident it will do well and would likely repeat the purchase down the road.

Not sturdy
I purchased this because of the low price. I wasn't expecting the bushing wrench to be made of iron, but I expected it to he tough enough to assist in field stripping my 1911. The plastic that this is made of is far from sturdy. I am almost afraid of using it because I can see how it could break and splinter in my hand while using it. Spend a little more money and get a sturdy 🔧

Really Liked This Product
I previously bought the slightly more expensive brand with the initials R-A in its name, which was ok, but still difficult to reassemble my 1911s.This product, although a bit simpler in appearance, was easier for me to use in reassembly, too. I'll strongly recommend this product.

Could be stronger material
I have used this maybe 6 times on one 1911. It is already starting to get damaged to the point of not being usable. I know the manufacturer is trying to keep it from marking the bushing, which is good. There are no marks on my bushing. Maybe make it a little stronger though. Even with a tight fit, I expected it to last longer.

Pass
Looks like it would work great , but it don't. Works well at removing the bushing , but not worth a hoot at putting it back on. Better pass on this one.
