MR16 GU5.3 Base OSRAM LED 5W 400 Lumens, 50W Halogen Replacement, 10-20V AC (for 12V Low Voltage Systems)

I bought 6 of these bulbs along with 6 of the Malibu 8301-9601-01 50 Watt Cast Metal Flood Lights (reviewed separately) in October 2016. These MR16 5W LED bulbs were recommended by Amazon to go with these Flood Lights. These 6 bulbs/flood lights are replacements for four 20W Halogen, 250 Lumen, spot lights installed 9 years ago around two Crab Apple trees and one Spruce in our front yard. These three trees are now much bigger (15-25 feet tall) than when they were planted in 2007 and the 4 old spot lights/Halogen bulbs couldn't come close to lighting them. These six 500 Lumen LED bulbs with the Flood Lights above do a very good job of lighting up our now much larger trees. We tripled the light output with this combo of bulb and fixture and decreased the power consumed from 80 down to 30 watts. Could not have used the 50 Watt Halogen bulbs originally intended for this fixture by Malibu as just these 6 would have maxed out our 300 Watt transformer. These bulbs, at 100 Lumens per Watt, seem to be the most efficient on the market....not a big surprise with the name OSRAM on them. Thanks Amazon for making these bulbs recently available and for the recommendation to purchase them. Planning to order three more of these bulb/flood lights as trees are continuing to get bigger.
