OUPES Mega 1 Portable Power Station 1024Wh 2000W (4500W Surge)

I received this battery in good order, well packaged, and in new condition. It didn't take long to arrive but it was shipped from my home state so it didn't have to travel far. Unboxing it, I found three power cables and a service manual. The manual is not very detailed and the English is sketchy so I'm assuming it was printed using a translation program. When I got it out of the box, read the manual, and turned it on, it had about 60% battery so I charged it on low input (there is a high input and low input). It charged quickly and came to 100%. I tried it to see how long the battery power would last. I gave it a draw of about 120-130 watts of power and it lasted almost 9 hours. Pretty impressive for the first run. When it was out of power, it gave an error code. I turned the unit off, then back on, and then plugged it in and it charged to 100% again without any problems. So far, this seems to be a reasonably good backup power supply. If you're using it for emergencies or for camping, outdoor activities, I think it would be good. However, if you're looking for something to keep you off grid or for everyday use, this is probably too lightweight with not enough KWH to do that. It is much lighter than I thought it would be. It's easy to move around, portable, but the plastic isn't really top quality. I wouldn't expect this to take a hard fall or nocking around too much. I seriously doubt it is water or weather, resistant. I haven't tried to use it as a UPS but the manual does say you can do that. There are two different settings for charging the unit, (high and low). It's a little complicated to change that setting but if you have a lower amp circuit and need to charge the unit without blowing a fuse or tripping a breaker, it can be helpful. It switches the input from about 1200 watts to around 600 watts but it takes longer to charge on lower power. My only gripe is that at low or high input the fan runs while it is charging... always runs while it is charging... the fan on low power charge isn't very strong or loud, but it is there, for two hours or more... so... it can get annoying. At some point I'll try some more features of this unit and add to this review, but for now, I'd say it's a good product and will do what I need.

Update #2: I have tried some various testing and it is working completely as I expected. I found a great use also for smaller units like this as a buffer for power devices. If you have a large inrush or occasional run device that overloads a circuit when kicking on (think commercial coffee pot or air compressor), put this in between the circuit and the device. Set the charge to a slow rate and it will handle the surge then recharge slowly over the next few minutes. Also, support was genuinely helpful when required at the beginning. I work in the backup power world and would recommend this unit, and have done so, to anyone looking. Update September 14, 2025. When helping my daughter move I found a fatal design flaw. The charge cable is proprietary. I am in Chicago and cannot easily source a replacement charge cable. If we had not found that a very helpful person packing had put it in a box in the U-Haul truck (causing us to unpack some). I am using the unit to temporarily power a chest freezer for the overnight move, I needed the cable a few hours after packing. This causes the review to drop to 3 stars and is something I hope the designers will correct in the future. Update July 27, 2025. They replaced the unit quickly once it was determined to be an issue. The new unit has been test and it works great. I adjusted the review to 4 stars based on the outstanding support. It would have had 5 had I not had to go through the process. Update: June 23, 2025. I messaged support and received emails and a call back within a day or two. They gave me instructions for a test that, due to my own schedule, I just completed. It is suspected that there is a BMS Management issue in the unit, and they have asked me to return it to them. I am anticipating a shipping label to return the unit. They indicated that they would replace the unit once they receive this one. So far support has been outstanding! Issues happen with electronics, I get it. The key is can you get the help you need when you have negative experiences. So far with OUPES they have been proactive to resolve my issues. I will update again once the next step is complete. I increased my rating to 3 stars based on support alone. I hope a replacement will push this to 5 stars! I have had this unit for less than two months. Before I left for a camping trip with it, the first real test was to run it down and recharge it to know how much time it would take on AC and with Eco-Worth 100W panels (2). The unit was discharged and will not turn back on. There has been no response from plugging it in, nothing. There has also been no response from connecting solar panels. At this point, it is an expensive boat anchor. I have submitted a message to their customer support, and I hope they can help me reset this unit so that it works again. I am testing the unit, and the support I received before I can change my review from a 1-star to anything higher. I own a consulting company for much larger systems and wanted to try consumer-grade products. So far, others have been worth the purchase, but this one is a wait-and-see.

The OUPES Mega 1 is kind of a no-brainer if you actually look at what it delivers for the price. It’s got a 1024Wh LiFePO4 battery (3,500+ cycles), a 2000W inverter with 4500W surge, UPS mode, app control, and solar expansion. Basically, everything the high-end brands brag about—just without the inflated price tag. Yeah, it’s a little heavy at around 30 pounds, but I only use it for truck camping and shoots, so it’s fine. It sits behind the seat or in the bed and doesn’t move much anyway. The handles make it easy enough to haul when needed. Battery life’s solid—I can run my fridge, laptop, drone chargers, lights, and espresso maker for days, then plug into solar and keep it going. It charges stupid fast too—about 80% in an hour if I need to top off between drives. Once I add the solar panels, I’ll basically have unlimited power wherever I park. Design-wise, it’s clean and functional. The display’s bright, ports are actually where you want them, and the build feels premium without being overdesigned. For me, it hits both worlds: power for long video shoots (charging cameras, lights, and editing gear) and comfort for overlanding (running camp lights, Starlink, and the fridge). I’ve used plenty of overpriced power stations, and this one just makes sense. Can’t wait to get the solar setup dialed in—it’s about to make my truck a full-on mobile studio.

Works great but I didn’t know it would come in two packages. I called on Sunday and they got back to me the next day. No problem. Fast charge with shore power; slow charge with the single solar panel. Works great for camping.

I really like this little power station, especially at the heavily discounted sale price available when I purchased, and the excellent sales service. The sale price on Amazon was considerably higher than the sale price on the Oupes website; I discovered this after my purchase, but when I contacted them they refunded me the difference by the next day. Awesome sales service! Mine purchase was scheduled for delivery in 9 days, but it arrived in 3! Note that this product is NOT RETURNABLE through Amazon. The power station is compact and lightweight, perfect for my camping needs; it delivers enough power to run a small heater, electric blanket, electric hotplate, run lights, charge electronics, etc. However mine did NOT have the advertised surge capacity (details below). Charging speed is excellent: full charge from a wall AC outlet on high setting took <45 minutes (I wasn't standing by when it topped off) and on the battery-friendly slow charge rate took 91 minutes from 0 to 100%. Manufacturer recommended practice is to leave it charging after it reaches 100% until the fans kick off; for me this took another 24 minutes. The manual says do not charge from a non-pure-sine wave source, so if you use a generator, only use an inverter generator. I have not tested solar charging. The only negatives I found are: 1. the advertised 4500w surge rating is grossly optimistic; mine consistently trips between 2050-2200w. I've contacted the manufacturer to inquire if this is a defect or just bad advertising; to be honest I didn't expect (or need) that much surge capacity. 2. the CleanEnergy bluetooth app is really basic, providing a only couple of simple configuration settings and wireless control, but no info on the state of the cells, temperature, or such. Overall I'm glad I purchased this power station and can't wait to get it into the field. If I figure out why the surge capacity is so low and get it fixed, I'll upgrade the product rating to 5++ stars. Even without the extra surge capacity, if you get one on a deep discount sale it is a 5 star value. I would buy it again.

Have had this little unite for over a year now and it works great. No real issues other than it drains when pluged into solar power at night. A great little power house that comes in very handy with power outages, camping, fishing, and road trips. wished i bought the Mega 3

Packed properly-so no damage-important. Early in-but charged in about an hour on AC, is working properly. well made design, carry handles on top sides, easy to carry. Compact-I can place this where ever I need it. Still doing some tests to see how long it can run refrigerators, other more demanding appliances. Oupes has a good reputation for backing their products, and reasonably reliable equipment so purchased after studying many reviews. will follow up review down the road. Addendum-I'm taking this down to 4 stars simply because after using this for a period of a month or 2, with light duty lights and other low-demand electronics, this does not get anywhere near 1024Wh of use. without technical measurements-just off the cuff-this runs down for example powering a bank of 5 15 Watt LEDs-total 75 Watts, in around 7-8 hours, with no other demands placed on it. I ran this light appliance at night for around 2 hours or so, and after the 3rd night, this pack was done. Roughly calculated this means I'm getting maybe half or slightly better than that spec's time calculation. This seems to be fairly common as I read reviews of various brands. and since Life4pos do not need "conditioning" I have to think this use time will not improve. These companies are not being truthful about actual usage specs. Advertised as supposedly able to keep a small but kitchen frig running for 12 hours? No, more like 6. I was looking to purchase an additional, but after this experience, no. Great idea, but like early electric cars, just not there yet IMO. Something in the circuitry of these power banks is using up power internally before it gets out as pure energy directly from the batteries, possibly filter circuits or something similar. I've had better luck with a solar panel connected directly to 12V lead acid batteries, a 600-1200W converter powers my pellet stove (100 watts with 2 motors) for about 3 hours before the battery is depleted. I'm guessing this capacity power bank will only beat that by a few hours. For over 400.00 this is a bit of a disappointment. If I see I'm wrong with further tests, I will revisit this review. I definitely was hoping to get a few of these if the stated capacity were accurate, a step in the right direction, but need a few more steps.

Well... this unit has done nothing but IMPRESS. It's significantly lower priced than other machines of similar output, it has more outlets, and it recharges VERY fast - 35 minutes is what mine takes to charge from 0 to 100%. I recommend this machine, it's simple to use, it has alot of power and it's a serious competitor.
