From build quality to speed, it doesn’t disappoint.
I've been building PCs for years, and Samsung has always been my go-to brand for storage. The Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 4TB PCIe 5.0x4 fits right in with the quality I’ve come to expect. From build quality to speed, it doesn’t disappoint. Build Quality: Strong and Durable The first thing I noticed when I took the drive out of the box was how solid it felt. It’s built to last with a sturdy heat spreader and a well-made PCB. This drive doesn’t feel flimsy at all, and I can tell it’s designed to handle heavy use over time. It’s a high-quality piece of hardware that inspires confidence. Performance: Fast and Ready for the Future The speed on this thing is impressive. I’m using it with my Asus z790 ITX motherboard, and even though the drive shares PCIe lanes with other components, it still delivers the advertised speeds without issue. Whether I’m loading large files, booting up Windows, or transferring a ton of data, it’s smooth and quick. The PCIe 5.0x4 interface means this drive is set up for the next few years, so I’m not worried about it being outdated any time soon. It’s fast enough for anything I’m doing now and should handle whatever comes next (not like there is anything I need faster at the moment :) ) Size: 4TB of Storage Having 4TB of space on an SSD is becoming more mainstream. I’ve got more than enough room for all my games, video projects, and backups, with plenty left over. Even with that much storage, the drive doesn’t slow down or feel sluggish. It’s great knowing I can store everything I need without worrying about running out of space. Value: Worth the Investment This SSD isn’t cheap, but it’s worth the price. Between the fast speeds, massive storage, and solid build, it’s a great investment. I’ve seen it go on sale a few times, but it’s rare, so if you spot one, it’s worth jumping on it. While it’s definitely an upfront cost, you’re getting something that’ll last and keep up with future needs. Final Thoughts The Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 4TB PCIe 5.0x4 is exactly what I wanted. It’s fast, reliable, and built to last. If you’re looking for a high-capacity drive that can keep up with everything you throw at it—and still be fast for years to come—this is a great choice. Just keep an eye out for sales, because it doesn’t go on discount often, but when it does, it’s definitely worth it.

Nice to own
I bought this SSD before ram price went crazy, and I'm really glad I did. I was starting to feel the pinch with my old drive slowing down, especially when rendering large video files or loading games. The Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 2TB has been a game-changer for my workflow. What I appreciate most: Speed: The advertised 14,700MB/s sequential read speed is no exaggeration. Boot times are almost instantaneous, and large files load much faster than on my previous drive. Reliability: I've had it for about six months now with no issues. Smart Task reports healthy wear levels, and the drive has handled everything I've thrown at it. Build Quality: The metal housing feels solid, and I haven't noticed any excessive heat buildup even during long rendering sessions. A few things to consider: It's definitely an investment, but for creative professionals or gamers who need top performance, it's worth it. Make sure your motherboard supports PCIe 5.0 x4 to get the full speed benefit. Mine did, so I was good to go. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It breathing new life into my older machine and handles heavy workloads without breaking a sweat. Would recommend to anyone needing serious storage performance.

Fast PCIe 5.0 SSD Performs Well in Home Lab Build
The Samsung 9100 PRO 1TB has been a great addition to my home lab server build alongside the i7-14700K and ASUS TUF Z790-Plus motherboard. PCIe 5.0 support on the board lets this drive stretch its legs, and the performance has been everything you would expect from Samsung's flagship line. Boot times on Debian are nearly instant and large file operations finish almost before you notice them starting. The sequential read speeds advertised on the box are not just marketing fluff, the drive genuinely flies when handed real workloads. For anything involving big data sets, virtual machines, or heavy I/O, the headroom is appreciated. Installation was the usual M.2 2280 routine. Drop it in the slot, secure the screw, and the system picked it up immediately. No firmware updates or fuss were needed to get it running at full speed. Heat is worth mentioning since PCIe 5.0 drives can run warm under sustained load. My motherboard's M.2 heatsink has kept temperatures reasonable, but anyone using this drive should make sure they have proper cooling in place. It is not optional at this performance tier. Samsung's reputation for reliability is part of the reason I picked this drive, and so far it has lived up to expectations. The 1TB capacity is a sensible sweet spot for a boot drive plus working storage, with larger bulk data living on spinning disks elsewhere in the system. For anyone building a current generation system that can take advantage of PCIe 5.0, this is a strong choice. Fast, reliable, and from a name with a solid track record.

Excellent Performance, but Expensive
This Samsung 9100 Pro SSD delivers excellent performance. It is very fast, reliable, and works great for demanding tasks like large file transfers and heavy workloads. The only downside is the price. It is an expensive SSD, but the performance and quality make it worth considering if you need top-level speed.

Unbelievable PCIe 5.0 speeds — Wish I bought a second one in December
The Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 2TB is an absolute monster of a drive. Sequential read/write speeds pushing up to 14,800 MB/s make heavy data transfers, massive photo/video workflows, and system responsiveness effortless. Thermals are well-controlled for a PCIe 5.0 drive, and stability has been rock solid. My only regret is not buying a second unit back in December. Thanks to AI infrastructure demand driving NAND flash costs through the roof, current drive prices have gotten completely stupid. If you catch it on any kind of discount, buy it—performance-wise, it's easily one of the best drives on the market.

What you really want. Get it.
I freaking love my Sammy 9100. It was what made my baby go from 'alright', to what I wanted my PC to Be. Smooth and quick upload speeds, just damn damn good stuff. I'm not sure I've ever been happier with a purchase, then I was with this one. Oh wait I do have a ff48 signed by stan, so its right there with that.

Product performs as advertised
Does not come with the m.2 screw so ensure you have one or order one along with this. The device performs to the advertised speeds and setup was easy and basically the same as the previous gens. So far no issues and I'm happy with my purchase and catching it at $299 with the price being insane lately wasn't a bad deal. Temps were at about 45C during game download and installing which isn't bad for these gen 5's and that's with the motherboard heatsink which is decent. I may consider getting an m.2 cooler with a fan for the ease of mind but currently temps are good
