X3D V-CACHE AND THE BACKING OF A WORKHORSE
Listen, this is a beast. I was lucky enough to get a backorder for it on launch morning before the scalpers got to it and got it a couple weeks later. If you're thinking about waiting though, consider what your use case is. Are you looking to run demanding CPU intensive workloads AND play games? This is the processor for you. This is me because I use handbrake. Are you looking to just game? Save some money and get the 9800X3D (or maybe 9900X3D, but that CPU has strangely been ignored lately?). Looking for a workhorse? Save some money and get the 9950XNeed both? This is your guy, just don't pay scalper prices for it. MSRP at time of writing is $699 + tax/ship, that's what I paid. Also, just so you know, there's a small problem with the serial number matching the die and box. Same for me as other reviews although getting a confirmed genuine unit. Mine had a 6 where a b was supposed to be as a difference between the box and CPU etching, an understandable mistake, however AMD needs to address this because of how rampant scams are right now with computer hardware.Overall, great processor. The X3D series is a game changer for gaming.

Monster CPU with a monster price and monster heat/consumption.
The perfect CPU for a monster PC.Pros:- Gaming performance is nearly identical to the gaming-specific 9800x3D.- Productivity workloads about 75% faster than the 9800x3D on average.- PBO works extremely well. +200 is absolutely no problem for this chip.- Even in certain gaming scenarios unrelated to actual gameplay, there is a noticeable uplift. (e.g. shader builds)Cons:- This CPU is not cheap. If you don't have too many productivity workloads and strictly use for casual workloads, web browsing and heavy gaming, go with the 9800x3D for $250 less.- This CPU runs hot. Compared to the 9800x3D which ran comparatively cool, this CPU idles around 49-53C, and under full load, can reach as hot as 78C on a 360mm AIO (Liquid Freezer III). Gaming temps are very reasonable around 60-65C.- This CPU consumes more power than the 9800x3D. Under full load, I've seen power consumption in excess of 240W for spikes, and draws 40-45W even when idle, compared to the 9800x3D which drew 145W with PBO OC under load and 20-25W idling.Even though it consumes a ton of power, it still consumes far less than the 14-series high-end Intel chips with superior gaming performance to boot. Intel does still hold a slight edge when it comes to productivity workloads at a slightly lower price. For those who are building a monster PC that will be used for gaming and productivity, there is no other AMD choice (other than the 9800x3D).

Absolute Beast of a Processor!
I recently upgraded to the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and it’s been an absolute game-changer. The 16 cores and 32 threads deliver insane performance, making multitasking a breeze. Whether I’m gaming, streaming, or working with demanding software, this processor handles everything without breaking a sweat. The clock speeds are impressive, and I’ve seen massive improvements in both my gaming and productivity workloads. The real standout feature for me has been the 3D V-Cache technology, which has taken my gaming experience to the next level. Performance in CPU-intensive games is smoother, and load times are significantly faster. If you’re looking for top-tier performance for gaming, video editing, or anything that demands serious power, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is absolutely worth it. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase — five stars!

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for great performance across the board but don't pay more than MSRP. Wait for the stock to come back

Best productivity and gaming CPU on the market!
The best gaming and productivity CPU on the market. Can render a 65 minute 2K video in 10 minutes with 64GB of DDR5. Absolutely shreds in any and all games. Got anywhere from 50-150FPS increase in all games coming from a 7950X.It's a bit on the pricey side, but the fact we can also overclock the X3D chips now is amazing and I just use PBO to get an extra little but out of Mhz out of mine. BUY IT!

Works great for gaming and productivity and no fuss setup.
Runs like a beast.Switched from permanent Intel fanboy to 7800x3d for a few months then this.I have no issues with the dual CCD and I'm primarily a gamer. Just download chipset drivers and update BIOS and it works. No fussing.Coming from a 7800x3d and using a 4090 it's a big upgrade in desktop performance and gaming 1% lows.Wow. Good job AMD.Pairs great with ASRock nova wifi mobo.Had a 12700k prior to AMD.
