How to stop the strap falling out of the tool!
Having read the reviews on this item and how some people found it difficult to use, because the strap came away from the housing, I simply left the cable-tie holding the tool to the cardboard wrapper on the tool, after tearing away the packaging. I then tightened the cable-tie to stop the strap falling off the tool and it worked well. I bought the item to unscrew a lamplight cover which was difficult to grip with my fingers and this little tool did the job. Worth every penny.

Great for opening plastic water filter cartridges as the strap material won't damage the plastics. Sturdy enough. Never tried on car/bike oil filters.

I have had mine for years with no problems
To quote from an earlier review: "Having read the reviews on this item and how some people found it difficult to use, because the strap came away from the housing ..." I just put an elastic band around the handle. Simple. I have used this all over the house - jars, plumbing, hosepipes etc. Would not be without it. Just wish that manufacturers would be clearer about sizes!

The strap always breaks easily. Not real rubber. Cannot recommend and won't buy again.

My mother loved it
I bought this for my mother, whose wrists have weakened as she’s got older, to help her opening jars - works brilliantly. She’s really happy with it.
