To clean the ionizing needles, simply rotate the point cleaner knob located at the center of the outlet grille clockwise, rotate it around so that the brush can clean each ionizing needle. Recommended frequency of cleaning is once a month.

Will this work to remove static from music albums (LPs)?

If you have the fan blowing on the album when you remove it from its cover yes it should remove the static charge . When  tested these  will remove a  2k surface voltage from a 12sq in metal surface in less than 2 seconds in most cases. They are comparable to a Simco or 3m brand  for 1/4 the price-with constant use I see about 3yrs before a failure occurs . Intermittent use should last a very very long time
