I am a weekend woodworker, always on the cusp of being great, but mostly achieving only good. Much of that is because I just don't have the funds to buy top-of-the-line tools (not to mention a place in which to use them as intended) so I look for bargains that will help me get the job done (think Harbor Fr.... well you know). Too often this does indeed get the job done but at a lesser quality than "great". These chisels are the rare time when I purchased a tool that helped me on the path to being great. They come out of the box sharp, the steel from which they are made is good quality steel and the case is something that helps protect them from my (sometimes) forget-to-put-them-away habits. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the rough sharpening stone. It is a lot more coarse than I would have liked, but since I have a good honing stone, it didn't bother me too much. All in all Its a good bargain for a good quality tool for the weekend woodworker.

If you are looking for an inexpensive chisel set this will do. I have had this set for a little over a week now and have used pretty much every chisel. So far I have no complaints with the quality of the metal used in the blades. Only time will tell if the will hold up, however at this price if I damage a few, I will just buy another set.Pros: Chisels arrive sharp and ready for work.Comes with sharpening stone and guide.Cons: While the case could be handy, it is not the best.

Although I have not used them yet, I did examine them. First the case is strong and closes tightly. Second, the chisels are solid and hefty, they came with a sharp edge. The tip covers are an excellent addition as they will keep the chisels razor sharp. I love the sharpening guide. No more guessing if the chisels are held at the proper angle to assure an even and correct angle for sharpening. I have found that after using the stone, a sharper edge is made possible by using crocus cloth, and then a "magazine" type of surface to polish the edges to a razor's edge. Over all, these are heavy duty and plenty usable by professinals with a heavy use regimine.

These are sharp, come with a high-grade Stone, and I appreciate the angle guide. Finally, I like the case for a purchase such as this. My shop drawers are just disorganized enough, that I would not find the right size chisel without the high-quality case. I find these to be an extremely good value.

I love the chisel and whetstone. The honing guide works fine. Cant wait to change the handles and make them my own

Decent blades. Long. Nice case. Sharpener and stone are nice. All pack together. Handles are garbage. I usually baby my chisels in the beginning and they progress into beaters. These will never be beaters. The handles won't take it. For light work.
