Swanson Vegetable Broth, 14.5 oz. Can

Don't tell the husband, but I will often use this Swanson vegetable broth in place of chicken or beef broth in recipes in order to get at least some kind of vegetables into him even if it is in liquid form. It also slightly reduces our use of meat. He's an old man and quite set in his ways. Like his father before him, he has this prejudice against "green things" (vegetables). And God forbid you use the word "vegan" around him. He will absolutely refuse to eat anything with that label just on principle. *sigh*As the conniving wifey I am, I slip him vegetables when he's not looking.Speaking of ... this broth is vegan and contains no MSG or carrageenan. My daughter's partner is very sensitive to MSG, and my husband and I try to avoid carrageenan as we think it contributes to inflammation and aggravates his Rheumatoid arthritis. This we have discovered through our own experimentation.It is economically priced. If you want to deepen or strengthen the flavor, it’s easy enough to cook it down or reduce it by simmering on the stove.When I use just 1 cup (8 ounces) out of a 14.5 ounce can, I’ll use the remaining ounces in something else, like when cooking rice or vegetables, if I haven’t reduced it, or add a bit to food to add moisture when microwaving to reheat something.The metal cans, though heavy when you have several of them, are easy to store, keep for a long time, and I found a place down the road where I can recycle them, since my home county and state is sorely lacking in that regard. The point here is the broth is not sealed or stored in plastic.Overall, a good buy.

I like the vegetable broth so much better than the chicken broth. It goes especially better in dishes that call for a lot of vegetables. I use it in my jambalaya. It has a better flavor than the chicken broth. Too bad I can not find the cans in store. The cans are so much better than the cartons.

Use it in crock pot for a variety of vegetarian dishes. Not super salty which I like, but lacking a tiny bit of flavor. It's hard to find decent vegetable broth at the stores near where I live so glad these were a semi decent price and they do the job for what I need them for.

Excellent product when you're making dinner. Easy , versatile, flavorful broth. Love it.

You cannot go wrong with this stock. The consistency is always there. First ingredient is actually vegetable stock. It’s very low in sugar and 100% natural. This why it has such a nice full body flavor that will go with any chicken and/or beef based meal. Highly recommend!

I love the broth for all of my soups and stews. I’ll continue to reorder this product
