Govee Bluetooth Thermometer Hygrometer, Instant Read Indoor Digital Humidity Temperature Monitor with APP Alert, 2 Year Data Record and Export, for Home Greenhouse Incubator Humidor and Nursery Room

This has been my first winter as an RV/5th wheel resident on a friend's property. The RV is 20 years old and has the "arctic package", but I decided to put a skirt around the base of it and just finished it before the first freezing temperatures occurred. I put a lamp behind the skirt with a 60 watt bulb and just before the severe temps beginning with December 21, 2023 and following, I plugged in chicken coop heat lamp. Thankfully the water lines had survived up until that point, but I did not like the guesswork involved as it pertained to the ambient temperature outside of the arctic package enclosure material. I decided to try one of these thermometers, and actually got this one rather than the one just below it in price. I wanted to KNOW what the temps behind the RV skirting was and thought I would get the best bluetooth capability of it. The app works extremely well and I can at any time read exactly what the temperature is "down there" without getting on my knees, crawling behind the skirt, etc. etc. This is a "must have if possible" for anyone in a situation like me, whether desiring above freezing temps for your RV or any other application. It has been flawless for me, and the battery that it came with still reads completely full. The phone app also allows a person to set alarms to go off when certain temperatures are occurring. However, so far my 2 lamps keep the behind the skirt area approximately 10 to 12 degrees higher than the air temperatures outside, and since I check it several times throughout the day I haven't opted yet for that alarm. For someone with multiple applications or a busier schedule, that feature would be great to have. I definitely and HIGHLY recommend this product!

i've been looking for something to monitor our newborn's bedroom. we live in a hot climate, so we have to make sure the room is ideally 69-71F to set an ideal sleep environment for the baby (according to our pediatrician). anything we can do to encourage sleepiness is great as we already hate fighting with her to go to sleep. prior to this device, i would try to position a hygrometer/thermometer near the baby cam so i could try to read that remotely or locally. not very easy to read those displays on a low res cam. when i saw this product--i immediately saw how applicable it could be to our lives. for the most part, it does all the heavy lifting of what i require. it reports temperature fairly actively and i can monitor the current stats as well as history from a distance on my phone app. here are the things i wish they might improve in the offering (in order of preference if i could talk to the developer) 1. range of the bluetooth is limited. i have to stand within 3 feet of the device (stuck to the head of the crib) to get the data to download to my main phone (samsung note 8). if i have a wall and a door closed inbetween, no bueno. for some reason, the app on my older tab s pro which often is worse on most connectivity items can read the device from about 15 feet with the door closed. nothing as lame as having to have to move our devices around the hallway/house see if we can pick up the data from the device. ideally, i'd like the connectivity to be really strong and reliable--which is asking a lot from a device working off battery. i think if this thing were broadcasting on wifi, which might be more robust? that would be a real winner. i saw on the app you can set it up to work with their wifi device--but i couldn't find that wifi device for sale anywhere yet (Wi-Fi Thermo-Hygrometer H5051). 2. i'm not sure about the calibration. in comparison to my other thermometers, it reads about 1.2 degrees too low. of course, temperature is sort of a relative thing for my application--so i shouldn't be so obsessed. yet, i am. for the first many days i would check to see the device calibration--not exactly a great trust exercise. of course, i would love it more if it just was perfectly calibrated out of the box--like how one might expect that from a swiss scientific device or a thermapen. note: the calibration one does on the app only changes the app readings. but the physical device taped to the crib still reads the original temperature even after calibration. 3. the app does the basics--gives you history. but it would be really nice to be able to set the scale and fix it statically so it doesn't keep adjusting as i scroll through history. i'm only concerned about temps within a certain range (65-80) so i don't want to see all the leaps within 74.0 and 74.5 which make it look like the readings are going crazy all over the place. lastly, once in awhile, the device will pick up a skewed number--say a 0 or a 100 degrees--and that just shatters the readability of the graph as the axises will then adjust to that outlying number. then you have to delete all the info and reinstall it, hoping another outlier doesn't happen soon. 4. lastly--i've been looking for a way to export the data--and haven't found it yet. i mean, the kind of person who is into paying extra for this sort of device is hungry for data--and probably would love to export it to a spreadsheet once in a great while. i think this device satisfies a unique niche. if it can improve its usability, it would go from a borderline keep/return to a strong recommend.

This device works great. I am going to buy another one for our accessory freezer. I bought a different Govee device for my fridge, I don't like that one as much as this one. This one is reliable, accurate, pairs well to my phone and the app, and tracks appropriately. I had a container of food that seemed like it had been frozen incorrectly, which prompted me to buy a thermometer with a tracking function--turns out my freezer and fridge are fine, perhaps the item was incorrectly stored at the grocery store. This would also be great for a pharmacy fridge or freezer as well, to keep drug products within specific temperature ranges. I'm not sure why other people are having issues with this device, or don't love this device. It's affordable, easy to use, and works great!

The short: Great all-around indoor thermostat/hydrometer. Small footprint and feature rich. Intuitive and informative app. Great purchase. Highly recommended. A lot of bang for the buck here folks. The versatility of the size and the feature packed app has a ton to offer within a simple and easy to use package The long: This unit has a small footprint and can be hung on the wall or placed on a flat surface with the included stand. The stand is sturdy and angles the display for better viewing contrast. No back lights, which is a missed opportunity in my view; but the display is big and easy to read in proper lighting. A button in the front allows you to change from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The overall height and weight lend itself to be placed anywhere with very little aesthetic impact to the rest of the room. The Bluetooth connection is strong. I get full signal to my phone anywhere in my 1200 sq.ft. raised ranch home. The included 3 AAA batteries lasts a long time. I have replaced once set since I purchased the first one in 2019 and have yet to change the set it came with in my second unit in 2021. This model doesn’t offer WIFI, but I don’t miss it at all. I can see the house temperature with my HVAC WIFI thermostat (Waze V1 Review to come!) if I need to know the temp while away. the thermostat saves historical data on board the unit which is an awesome feature I wasn’t expecting. More on that and the app next. The app is great. There is a lot to explore, and the Trends are impressive. The ability to look at temperature changes over a specific period is a great tool. The trends have tabs for hours, day’s, months, weeks, and years. I did not make the first purchase with any real idea the type of information It provides; but I find it almost indispensable. For example, being able to see my 6-month old’s nursery temperature and humidity in real time, plus having the ability to look at overnight temperatures and humidity changes is pretty cool. The nursery faces south and gets all day sun, the room also gets particularly cold at night. While a couple of degrees wouldn’t make a difference to my 7-year-old; That couple of degrees could make the difference between the baby sleeping until 6:00am or a 3:00AM wake up call. I can set the house thermostat or open a window a crack accordingly. There is an iPhone widget available, and it is a nice feature. Separate widgets can be set up for multiple devices and is easy to read. It can take a couple of seconds to update but an unexpected addition, nonetheless. the app also has other smart devices that you can purchase separately and then connected through the app. Some other things I use these for: Indoor herb drying room. Monitor real time room temperatures in various spots while pellet stove is running or electric heater in below grade playroom. Checking Attic/basement for temperature/humidity levels to monitor and identify potential mold problems. Calibrating new thermostats.

I recently bought a house and wanted to check the hummidity & temperatures at multiple points around the house to get a feel of how good the HVAC system is. After buying and trying one, I ended up buying three more and putting them around the house. They are fairly small, easy to read and the best part is they have blue-tooth connectivity and can store upto 2yrs of data on the device which you can export as .csv for later review. I used it to tweak my attic ventilation & insulation, use it to monitor the basement humidity and finally, I have one that I keep as spare to just tweak the HVAC system to the different rooms depending on different times of day - single zone heating systems will require different temp, different times of year, different times of day. Ex: Winter, night - you might actually want to set your thermostate to lower since heat rises and our bedrooms are on the top floor. Same thing with the cooling in the summer, I would actually set the thermostat to a higher temperature in the day because we spend most time in the ground floor which tends to be cooler.

I am so sick of regular radio frequency wireless thermometers! They are very inaccurate and super short range! These Govee's are very accurate and have good range. Not sure what the range is yet. But is is so much better than RF thermo's. I got two of these and both read exactly the same when next to one another. Amazing! They have the accuracy of wired probe thermometer. And they match my known accurate thermometer. They can also be calibrated. Mine are perfectly calibrated out of the box. YMMV A little bug I encountered was one of these locked up. Kept reading 84.2 and 64% humidity. Was stuck. I could not connect to it by bluetooth. I removed the device in the app. And tried to re-pair it. The screen did blink, but it could not pair. I had to remove a battery for a few seconds. Seems to be fixed. Edit: Love these! I bought some more. These are perfection so far. Stay tuned!

I bought this as a potentially lower cost alternative to monitor temperature and humidity in a vacation home remotely using a Raspberry Pi equipped with Bluetooth capability. However, that didn't work out as expected. Let me say first off that the device itself is awesome. Good size, clearly readable display, and compared to my other temp/humidity device, reasonably accurate. I don't know about battery life as I have not had it that long. You have to be within Bluetooth range of the device to read it using the available Android or IoS app. There in no programming interface (API) to talk to the device directly other than the app for a device that is within Bluetooth range. So for my purposes, while a very nice device, it's not suitable for me. I had conversations with the Govee support folks and they understand my application and specific needs, but did not seem interested in advancing the utility of the product to support that. That's their call and I fully understand the business argument. I'll buy more of these if they can support something other than their specific app on a mobile device that is within Bluetooth range of the Govee sensor. It's great for monitoring at close range, or visually and I recommend it. I did not try the Wi-Fi version, but I suspect it will have similar limitations for me.

This product was working fine but it completely stopped within a month of use.....I have posted this issue with their support channel....let's see what response I get. Well I got the response from Govee within 24 hours and they have refused to help as it wasn't purchased from them directly.....first time i have ever heard anyone using that excuse.
