The product claims to hold objects between 3.5 to 5.3 inches but my 7 inch tablet is 4.5 inch wide and it does not fit. Into my first week of purchase I moved the location couple of times and the suction and fit is not as good as the first time. However, I am impressed at the ability to hold onto uneven surfaces and the sturdiness during the ride when the suction catches on. For the price they charge I expected more reliable suction

Edit: Now that I've had this a while, I have an update. I started mounting this to my dash rather than my windshield because it was more convenient. What i found is that when my dash gets super hot the suction loosens up and can come undone with a little pressure. i've solved this by just using one of those sun screen things for my front window when i park. Also i moved from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 and it still holds the size just fine. Still very sturdy after months of use.Works great stuck to the window in my car. The suction cup is sticky but also a suction cup. There's a lever on the back that you open before you place the mount, and then once you have it where you want it, you depress the lever to apply the suction. It easily holds my iPhone 5 with a case and while it does take two hands to mount/dismount the phone, it's not difficult or time-consuming. The phone is held firmly in place and you can press on the screen and home button and the phone stays right where it is. Haven't tried on a textured surface, but it comes with a little 3M adhesive disk that you can place to make a smooth surface if you need to. No complaints!

This has worked nicely on a 10-day trip, staying stuck to the windshield of our rental car for the entire time -- no re-sticking needed. We have two fairly big Android phones (4.8-inch and 5-inch screens) and this holds them without a problem, even with the added stress of having a power cable attached to the phone. The only problem -- and it's common to all holders like this I've seen -- is that it is tricky to get the phone into the holder. There should be a lever that opens the jaw that can be used with one hand, while the phone is put into the jaw with the other hand. Such a lever would make this a five-star product. I had to struggle every time to get the phone properly mounted, with the risk that I would brush the screen and cause some setting to change. However, as a holder, it worked exactly as advertised. I would definitely buy this inexpensive holder again.

The suction cup bottom is chewed up and it will not stick to anything. It does not look used, so what ever process they used to put the gel onto the bottom was completely flawed. I attempted to stick it to my work desk (which I cleaned first and then let dry) and it would not stay up. I had not even put my phone into the jaws at that point. The jaws certainly are strong and I can see it holding my phone securely... But since the suction cup is worthless, so is the whole device.

I have a Samsung S3 and it will hold it... Only it is hard to open it wide enough to get it to fit in. It works off tension and the tension is tough. Definitely need two hands to get your phone in and out of it. Find that I don't use it much because of that... too difficult.

This is an amazing product. No questions about it. Installs in 5 seconds, holds firm even on a non-smooth dashboard. As for holding the actual smartphone, I have an Samsung S4 with an extremely heavy duty aluminum case on it. The phone probably weights double if not more its original weight with the case on and the claw grip on this product holds it in place without a problem. Once the clip is tightened it is still easy to rotate the phone for different viewing angles. While driving on even bumpy dirt roads the stand stays solid and hold the phone without a problem.

This looks good and does a really good job of holding the phone in its place really well. The one thing to note is that you need two hands to put the phone in and take it out. The spring is really tightly wound and while its good for holding the phone tight. It also needs some effort to put the phone in and out. I have a note 3 and it fights well with the smart cover on.

This product is nice except that the stand falls off the dash when it gets hot from the sun. Irritating and useless when it falls off and the sticky pad gets dirty. Would never buy again.
