What type of hardware is recommended for fastening the mount to just drywall and not a stud?

My husband mounted these for me. He used a simple nail and hammer and a leveler to get the row of comic books perfectly straight. You can use whatever size nail you feel comfortable with. No drilling or screws are required.

I am looking for something that I can display football game programs in. Will this work...what are the dimensions for what will fit in it.

Tested out a High School Football program in the one I have and it fit. The program measures 8.5 x 11. You will need to place the program in something to help keep it upright and sturdy if you hang it on the wall. If you plan to use it like a table stand display you might want to replace the flimsy piece of card stock they provide the keeps the frame from collapsing.

Does the plastic shell that covers the comic come with this?

No it does not those shells need to be purchased through the comic book grading companies when you get a book graded.
