Best weeder on the market
I have been using this weeder (or its replacement) for over 20 years.Years ago, I volunteered in a number of gardens, so was always leaving one behind. Now I just tend to misplace it in my own garden , (or perhaps unknowingly throw it out with debris), so I always have a back-up. I would never be without this tool.

Best tool for vigorous hand weeding
This is my second Wilcox weeder, not because the first didn't hold up as advertised, but because I lost it in a field. I had to replace it because I haven't been able to find any other weeder sturdy enough for the tough soil here. It's the only one that doesn't bend the way I use it.The shank goes to the end of the handle, so no chance of it breaking there. The notched blade at the business end comes sharp for a weeder, not enough to cut me, but enough to easily go through soft roots. It's useful to grip into a root to pull it up if you don't push through. If it's too sharp for your own preferred method, you can pretty easily dull it some with a file. Over time it does loose some of its edge anyway, so you can also sharpen it up with a file or stone. I never sharpened mine, it was OK a little duller. The material on the handle is durable semi-hard plastic that gives a decent grip. With the raised finger grip and ridges, I haven't had any trouble with slippage. One review trashes this because it came with stickers on it that the person found hard to remove. Mine came with one, which took me one or two minutes to remove, including the glue, which I removed by pushing it into a ball with my thumb. No water or other solvent needed. Really not a serious problem.By the way, if you want a stand-up weeder that's similarly strong, my choice is the unique Radius 205 (link embedded) (available in other color schemes as 20501, 20502 and sometimes others).

When you end up losing that simple tool your family loved for decades, that can never be replaced...
In a joint effort my husband and I lost our precious dandelion picker that we have had for decades. The quality is just not up to par as the ones they sold back in the day:(In searching for an equal to or better than replacement, I came across this Wilcox All-Pro 350S, 13" Weeder. My husband looked dubious when he saw it. He finally gave it a try, and guess what? I haven't heard a word about our missing blue handled dandelion picker since!-The Wilcox All-Pro 350S, 13" is as strong and sharp as they say. There was a slight learning curve when using this compared to my old picker. The old dandelion picker needed to be put in at an angle. With the Wilcox ,I need to put it in more perpendicular to the ground. When done correctly I find I'm getting more of the root out than I did with my old dandelion picker. If you are one of those that sometimes uses your pocket knife to get out dandelions ( i.e. my husband ) then using this will come naturally to you.-This tool is a joy to use. Instead of pulling his pocket knife out when he gets off work and spots a dandelion on his way into the house, my husband will go the extra few steps around his car, and grab the Wilcox All-Pro 350S, 13" tool off the garage shelf.

This is a good digger and pry tool. Everything good.
My opinion of this digger keeps going up. It is strong. The leading edge is reasonably sharp. In the pics here it looks like there are narrow openings in the leading edge but mine is totally together there, not open. So that's good.I use mine in lawn turf, and in the bark beds, and in the totally rough unfinished part of the yard. You can push it down past the flattened part and right up through the part that is round - just depends on the dirt down at that depth. If I run into a rock down there, I can wiggle it around to try getting past it. So far I have never bent this thing. It's also a good lever type tool for lifting the lid off of my septic tank. I can pry up one edge of the lid, lift it up, and flip it over, all in one motion with this tool. Then I can flip the lid back on with it when I'm done in there. The leading edge is just sharp enough to kind of dig into the plastic lid material a little, giving you like a grip on the lid, which helps when adjusting the position of it. Pretty handy. No sign of any rust on mine. Probably never will, being stainless. So it still looks nice.Oh yeah, the red handle makes it easy to find when you leave it lying around in the grass!

Seems strong after first use
Seems pretty strong! Cuts roots of dandelions quite well. Seems like it will last. I've only just got it though so maybe ask again after more significant use!

A very sturdy weeder.
This is one well built Weeder! It was rewarding to see something built this well after breaking many of these over the years.
