Great option
Love this piece of tech, does exactly what you need it to, planning to upgrade it to 1 of the options that lets you access YouTube and other streaming apps soon, but this one was perfect.

Seamless connection
My car model is one year shy of a wireless car play. I discovered I can get an adapter. After doing some research for my car model I decided to go with the CarlinKit and it works perfectly! Super easy to set up. A family member decided to go with another popular model and they have connectivity issues. I can keep my phone in my purse and it will connect seamlessly within seconds of getting into my car. The only time it won’t connect is when my RF ID wallet is in the way. As it is designed.

What I learned about the Subaru wrx 22 and this CarPlay adapters.
At first, I was frustrated because it felt like yet another bad CarPlay adapter. The connection was unreliable, and I almost gave up. Then I learned through the instructions and online notes that the device actually supports firmware updates. That gave me some hope, but even after updating, my connection still wasn’t great at first. The real breakthrough came when I discovered the issue wasn’t the adapter—it was my Subaru WRX infotainment system, which is notoriously slow to boot. By adding a 15-second startup delay in the Carlinkit settings, the connection became much more reliable. I mean, the delay didn’t fix the slow connection speed itself, but it did make it consistent—now I don’t have to intervene or reconnect manually. If you’re using this with a Subaru WRX (or any car with a sluggish infotainment system), I highly recommend giving the startup delay option a try. Once configured, this little device has been stable and hassle-free. Good product overall, just requires a bit of tweaking to get it right.

Unresponsive CarPlay screen after 5 minutes.
Installed in my 2025 Porsche GT4RS. Updated to latest firmware. It starts up quick but after 5 minutes the screen is unresponsive. Cannot answer calls, respond to text messages or change the Nav. It will track your position realtime, no lag but the car’s CarPlay screen is non responsive. Can use the physical buttons to get to the car’s Home Screen and then back to car play but that doesn’t help. Holding the power button for 30 seconds and rebooting the head unit forces CarPlay to reinitalize and it will work again for another 5-10 minutes then it stops sending touch screen requests to the phone again. I went back to wired connection. No drama.

Works, but has a few quirks
I use this in my Mazda 3. It works, but the connection isn’t quite as seamless as I expected. With my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I usually get a Bluetooth connection prompt when I get in the car even though I already have CarPlay and auto-connect set up. I have to tap it myself, and sometimes it takes around a minute before CarPlay is actually connected. I also can’t get Siri to wake up through CarPlay. I double-checked my Siri and CarPlay settings and everything that should be enabled is on, but it still doesn’t respond when I try to activate Siri. My boyfriend has an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and we noticed another weird issue with his. If Google Maps is open without active navigation and he uses voice input to search for a destination, the whole CarPlay connection drops. The car goes back to the main screen and shows CarPlay as disconnected. Other than that specific situation, we haven’t really had random disconnects. It is definitely mini like the name says, so the adapter itself isn’t big. My only concern is how far it sticks out once it’s plugged into the USB-C port inside my center console. It kind of just hangs there and looks a little awkward, which makes me nervous about accidentally bumping or bending it when I put things in the console. I just have to be a little more careful about what I keep in there. Overall it works, but I was hoping the connection and voice features would be a little more seamless.

Works Perfectly!
I bought the CarlinKit device after a trip in my 2019 Chevy Impala where I needed to connect my iPhone with a cord in order to get CarPlay functions on my dashboard touchscreen. I figured there must be a better way to do this, so I did some research and found the CarlinKit adapter. I plugged it into one of the USB ports and was able to quickly and easily sync the device to my phone. I now have all my iPhone functions wirelessly displayed on the car's touchscreen, including navigation. I leave the device plugged into a port in the center console and it reliably connects to my phone every time I enter the car. GM should be embarrassed that they do not deliver wireless iPhone connectivity as a standard feature given the popularity of those phones. But with this device, you get that at a relatively low cost.

small, inexpensive and hassle-free installation and use.
works just as advertised in my 2023 Tacoma Ltd which (incredibly) came with only wired car play--when this inexpensive little device was all it took to get wireless phone integration.

Fine at first, unreliable now
Lovely to have a wireless connection to CarPlay, but for the last few months it will just not work and require me to unplug and replug it in to actually swap over to car play. This happens a few times a week now which is quite annoying.

Pratique et fonctionnel
Fonctionne parfaitement. Très pratique et facile à mettre en œuvre. Une fois l’appairage réalisé (quelques secondes) il suffit de poser son iPhone près de l’adaptateur pour que la connexion se fasse immédiatement. Je recommande.

Works perfectly every time, reliable and fast
Car ised for this review : Hyundai Elantra Limited 2023 This wireless carplay adapter is the best on the market. Its as fast as with the cable and it connects the second its detected by the infotainment system. It works super reliably in my car. It basically plug and play!

- Wireless Upgrade for My Chevy Spark
I've used wired CarPlay in my 2019 Chevy Spark for years, but cables were a hassle since I like to keep my iPhone in my pocket. This dongle lets me keep in in my pocket instead of having to remember to fish it out beforehand. Setup is plug-and-play: connect to the USB port, pair once via Bluetooth, and it auto-connects on startup. After the car sits off for a while, it takes about 20-30 seconds to connect - but this must be a Chevy CarPlay issue, as it happens even with wired carplay too. Once connected, it's a stable connection. No cut-outs. The connection has no noticeable lag for maps, music, siri or phone calls. It supports online updates; I applied one via the web interface after following instructions. It's compact, durable, compatible with my Spark's system, and causes minimal phone battery drain. It works well on long trips. For a 2019 Chevy Spark or similar, this adapter is a good way to go wireless! Five stars.
