A Friendly Universe: Sayings to Inspire and Challenge You

As a voracious reader I am drawn to a wide variety of different topics (Zen, Taoism, Yoga, Quantum healing, Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, inspiring quote books and numerous other subjects) and I am always searching for interesting and informative books to read. This is why when I saw this 122 page soft cover volume with the catchy title (A friendly universe: sayings to inspire and challenge you by Byron Katie and illustrated by Hans Wilhelm) for a bargain price on Amazon I decided to purchase it.This is both an inspiring kind of book as well as a book of unusual and unique art. The author explores various topics with her unusual and at times thought provoking thoughts on stress, living, marriage, reality, dying and the universe. Each page is also filled with colorful illustrations by Hans Wilhelm. I can't say I agree with all her musings; however, I did find some of them amusing.Here are just a few examples to get a taste of this book: “An unquestioned mind is the world of suffering.” “The worst thing that has ever happened is an uninvestigated thought.” “The key to freedom: end every judgement with a question mark.”In conclusion, this is a book for anyone who loves reading quotes and sayings that make you ponder and think about life and the universe.Rating: 4 Stars. Thank you. I plan to read it again and again. It’s Life 101 in a nutshell. I’ve read many books with many words, but this one appeals to me. It is a gracious little book.

A beautiful picture book with many of Katie's choicest sayings.You can read the entire book in less than ten minutes. It is not new material, just presented in a visually appealing way, something like a set of inspiring cards put together as a book. However the teachings are valuable enough to reflect on for a lifetime, and I am happy to have it.Please note that this is a special kind of kindle ebook that only works on touch screen devices, not on a laptop.

Powerful and deep truths for me that remove the stress of life. I try to re-read daily during difficult times.

This book is a must for Byron Katie fans and anyone else who would like to create their own "Heaven" right here and now. The illustrations are beautiful and they beautifully support the sayings.If Katie and/or ideas about creating our own lives are new to you, at least check this out. You owe it to yourself.

it's a powerul reminder that life is an inside job. The stories I tell about life are the most important inputs to the life i experience.

This little, short booklet makes me cry and laugh at the same time. And when I am finished with this wonderfully created WORK, i felt lighter and i can breath much easier. I highly recommend it to everyone! We are all need it!

I'm a big fan of The Work and have used it to turnaround some really scary thoughts/grief in the past. The sayings in this book are good to meditate on and although I think I would prefer to collate my own book of ones that resonate with me in particular, I can't fault them. However, the illustrations in this book are horrendous. Brash colours and jaunty pictures that aren't nice to look at all. I also think it is overpriced.

I love the beautiful the mixture of colour - /black and white pictures. Hans Wilhelm hit the spot with his drawings to Katie Byron's sayings. Truly enjoyable.

Ich kannte das Buch schon und habe es gezielt gekauft und weiter verschenkt. Ein Büchlein, das sich wirklich jede/r zu Gemüte ziehen sollte - es kann unglaublichen Frieden in die aufgeregte Psyche bringen, ohne dogmatisch zu sein. Keine Religion, keine Esotherik - Logik und Herz.
