Highly Recommend! A Must-Have Pool Device!
The AIPER Surfer S2 Solar Powered Pool Surface Skimmer is easily one of my favorite pool devices! I love that it’s solar powered, so there’s no extra charger taking up an outlet—and it can run 24/7 without needing to be plugged in or recharged. This skimmer does an amazing job picking up debris, especially leaves. After several windy days in a row, I do need to empty the basket more often because it fills up quickly—but that just proves how effective it is! One of my favorite features is the built-in chlorine tablet holder, which is such a convenient bonus. I also love that my pool’s surface always looks spotlessly clean—no floating bugs or debris, ever. I did experience a minor issue when one of the fans stopped spinning, but Aiper’s customer support was outstanding. Their response was prompt, helpful, and resolved the issue quickly. Every interaction I’ve had with their customer service team has been positive. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this product and with Aiper as a brand. I will absolutely continue to recommend them!

Yes, it can work along with a Polaris pressure side hose pool cleaner!
This thing works great! And yes, it works with a Polaris pressure side hose cleaner, which most people say can't work. I was out for an evening swim, when some lights reflected on the water surface, revealing all kinds of things floating around: tiny bugs, pollen/dust, flower petals, etc. It seems that every one of my neighbors has a crepe myrtle tree with petals that blow into our pool. I didn't like the idea of swimming around in all of that stuff. So I started searching for a skimmer. I figure a skimmer can trap debris before it has time to sink to the bottom, also making things easier on the Polaris. But, all the reviews said you couldn't use a solar skimmer along with a hose cleaner. I saw someone mention adding weights to the hose, but I had an idea. I debated between the Aiper and the Bette skimmer, but I like the idea of having an app, with a scheduler, in case I need to schedule around the hose cleaner or something. I went ahead and ordered the Aiper Surfer S2. Cheaper than the Bette at the time. It arrived. I linked the app, set it in the water and turned it on. It ran around doing its thing. Awesome. But then, it got to the hose and got stuck. Just like they said. I tried scheduling the skimmer to turn off for an hour so the hose cleaner could run. But the hose cleaner would surround the skimmer and they'd both get stuck. I thought about alternating, like pulling the Polaris out and dropping it in as needed. Or letting it run, and only putting the skimmer in as needed. But I really liked the idea of the skimmer running 24/7, and the Polaris running for an hour every day. So I experimented. SOLUTION! The solution turned out to be pretty easy. I simply removed almost all of the hose floats. I removed 6 of them. There are now only 3. There's one on the section of hose coming from the side of the pool. There's one on the 2nd hose section. And there's one on the 3rd section, right above the rescue valve. That 3rd float stays submerged and only helps the valve stay out of the way of the cleaner. Only 2 floats are actually on the surface. I made sure the 1st section, coming from the wall, stays slightly higher in the water than the 2nd section. And of course the 3rd section goes down to the cleaner. Think of each section of hose as kind of "draping" into the water, but not reaching the bottom. There are now only 2 floats at the surface, and the hose drops away on both sides of each float at a sharp angle. I had to get into the water and just slide the floats until I got them the way I wanted. Now, the skimmer glides over the hoses without touching them at all. If it runs into one of the 2 floats, it gently powers over them. The floats are kind of held down by the weight of the hoses, so they are easy for the skimmer to push over. See video. End result is that my pool looks INCREDIBLE now. The bottom surface is spotless, as it gets cleaned for an hour every day. And the Polaris makes good use of the hour, by not getting stuck, and by having a Zipper closure on the bag. It actually cleans, instead of just looking busy. (Our old Pentair Racer looked busy but kept sticking in the corners and blowing debris straight out of the velcro opening.) The Aiper skimmer runs 24/7 on the surface. It doesn't have a set pattern or mapping, but it is relentless and tireless! No bugs, no pollen, no crepe myrtle petals can hide forever. The water shimmers and is clear from the top surface, through the middle, all the way down to the bottom. It really looks incredible. We keep staring at it in wonder. It is that noticeable. And when I went out for an evening swim, the water was like it just poured out of a filtered pitcher. Get one of these skimmers. If you have a hose cleaner, remove most of the floats. Enjoy crystal clear water. Note: In the video, I still had 4 floats, not 3. I later removed one more float that was not needed, so only 3 floats remain. This video should give you a good idea of how it is setup, and how easily the skimmer can push over a hose float, so long as you remove most of them.

Definitely worth the money if you find yourself having to use the net all the time.
After one summer of use, I can say that our Surfer S2 has been great. It did a good job of skimming the surface of our pool and keeping the surface clean. We found that it worked best to just leave it running 24/7, especially during times when blooms or other debris from our trees was actively coming down. It was a game changer from having to use a net all the time. It also helped reduce the amount of debris in the pool skimmer baskets. I also really like how it charges itself via the sun. This makes it almost care free. Never had to charge it all summer. It ran through the night and recharged itself during the day while running. There was only 1 problem. There is a spinning reel at the front of the unit that pulls material into it's hopper. This reel is supported by little ball bearings. One bearing completely failed on our original S2, causing the reel to freeze up. Aiper sent us a replacement S2. Never had any problems after that. Suspect it was just a bad bearing from the beginning. Really nice that they stand behind their product.

Buy this pool skimmer, you will not regret it.
If you are considering this unit, buy it. I used this all season last year and did not realize how much small debris it would capture from just skimming. It ran all night and day due to the solar charging that kept it charged all day long. Without the sun, it holds a charge about 2-3 days while running in the pool. The reason why I purchased this unit is because the flap in the basket that stops trash from coming out of the basket when the unit goes backwards. This flap truly makes a difference when cleaning. I have a kidney shaped pool and the size is 38' by 16' and this does a perfect job. I don't have any pictures because it is winter, but if you are considering buying this, I highly recommend pulling the trigger.

Works pretty well for skimming
Overall it has been doing a great job skimming the top of the water. I had no issues setting up the app and programming a schedule for it. It appears to do a great job getting everything off the pool surface. I should note my pool has no immediate trees around it so it mainly only skims for bugs and little things. Seems to do just fine for that. So far it has been keeping a charge via solar with no extra plug in time needed. It does a good job skimming the full surface by constantly changing directions. A couple issues I have noticed that are more unique to my situation but others should be aware of if they have the same. I have a corded underwater cleaner and this skimmer consistently gets caught on the other cleaners cord. I have a swim deck section on my pool. Due to a known leak that has not been fixed yet, the water level goes up and down somewhat frequently. I have to switch this skimmer back and forth between having the legs down and not having the legs down depending on the water level. I have found there is a sweet spot on the water level with the legs down that the skimmer will still climb up onto the swim deck and get itself stuck. Lastly, if you have the return jets turned up at a higher discharge this skimmer may struggle. I have noticed that when driving straight at a return jet, they will push the skimmer backwards even though the propellers are trying to push it forward.

Great Pool Surface Cleaner that is Solar Powered!!!
I bought the Aiper Surfer S2 last Spring in hopes of saving time in scooping debris, mainly bugs, off our pool constantly to allow more swim time in the pool! I wasn’t sure how well this would work but have been so impressed with how well it cleans the surface of debris! I used to get in the pool and then see bugs everywhere that you may not notice until you are in. Then I’d spend the next 20 minutes scooping bugs out! Well NO MORE! This solar powered surface cleaning robot does a fantastic job! It works on leaves, bugs and whatever you have floating on the surface. Not only that but it is super easy to clean! Now about the great specifics on the device itself. First off, it is solar powered while it is working! You put it in the pool and it has a huge solar panel on top so the entire time it is working, it is recharging! I never had to charge it myself except for the first start up. So no wasted electricity or wires/hoses to deal with! It does come with an easy adapter charging wire to plug in and charge as needed. Second, it has these “feet” you can pop out to keep it from getting stuck on the steps if the water is lower. If the water level is lower then those feet will hit the edge of the steps and it either turns around or backs up and goes back out into the pool to keep working. It can also be controlled by an app. The app is easy to use and tells the charge, how long it has run and you are able to turn it and guide it to a specific area you want cleaned. When done, it is easy to clean with a hose! It is fairly lightweight to get out of the pool as well. I’m so glad we bought this device and you will be too! I highly recommend it!

An excellent helper!
I really like my Surfer S2. Since it's solar-powered, I hardly ever have to charge it. The eco mode, three hours on and three hours off, means I don't have to worry about scheduling, and it cleans my non-rectangular pool perfectly. Customer service was great and fixed an issue quickly. The only downside is that standard-sized Clorox tablets don't fit in the dispenser, so I have to buy a different brand. Overall, it's a perfect machine and I recommend it!

Great Product with Excellent Customer Support!
The Aiper S2 Solar Pool Skimmer has been an excellent cleaning aid for our pool, effectively cleaning the surface of the pool preventing the need for collecting debris from settling to the bottom. The solar panel works extremely well, virtually eliminating the need to manually recharge the unit. The skimmer is effective when running in the ECO mode or continually and has been very effective in picking up various types of debris and is simple to empty the collection basket when necessary. The unit is well made and is certainly an excellent value for the benefits derived from its usefulness. The support from the Aiper team has also been superb. They are very customer oriented in being responsive to any issues or concerns. They genuinely want to make sure we are pleased with their product and service. I would highly recommend the Surfer S2 Skimmer.
