This book is one of the best books on Florida Lighthouses I’ve ever read! As a lighthouse and Florida aficionado, I own a lot of literature that pertains to both subjects, but this book takes the cake. The majority of the photographs in the book are never-before-seen vintage photographs of these historic monoliths that dot the Florida coastline. When you look at the pictures, you get transported to another time period and one feels nostalgic about it. The book is a quick read and it’s neatfully organized into different chapters to emphasize the different locations of the lighthouses within the state of Florida. I highly recommend this book because it will teleport you to a different era!

This series is all about the photos, with just small snippets of history in the captions.Interesting to see the number of times “eroded into the sea” and “destroyed by a hurricane” occur. Both a subtle reminder of the power of the sea.
