Lovely cheaper way to start trombone!
I didn’t mind getting this for my son when he wanted to learn the trombone, he got to choose which colour he wanted & he’s getting positive feedback from his trombone teacher! It’s lightweight so he able to carry it to & from school with ease. It came in a case so it’s handy too xxx.

Only fit as a training tool.
You get what you pay for. To teach a beginner the p-Bone is ideal, no major damage to an instrument of any significant value. The slide appears to be unstrainable. The sound to the untrained ear may also be an asset for a learner. Only fit as a training tool, any student worth his salt would want a real worthwhile trombone even before they get through the Tune A Day book.

Bold as Brass
I bought a Jiggs PBone for my husband as he was thinking of getting back into playing after a 5 year break. He had sold his brass trombone and didn't want to spend a good thousand pound or two on a new one while he decided whether he really had the time. The price of the PBone is a real bonus, no it's not a brass trombone it never well be but it does play well and the bottom register in particular sounds good if a bit thin the top register is not quite so good but it is more than adequate. Currently the slide is a little sticky but the PBone website does mention this may be an issue in the first instance. From a portability point of view it is amazing and not only good for children but I am sure there will be many at outside gigs and even a few at Jazz festivals. There lightness means even the smallest child can play and also allows those with limited arm strength a brass option.Despite its issues I have to give a give star review. The PBone is the biggest leap forward in affordability of instruments that has been seen in a long time and while it will never take over from beautifully crafted brass instruments it does make the trombone a viable instrument for children, learners, those with disabilities and experienced players who don't have a lot of money to spend.A truly wonderful innovation from Jiggs/Warwick Music.

Very playable
Brilliant for beginners and cheap. Slide not smooth but playable. I take mine on holiday to maintain embouchure without risking my expensive main trombone. Fairly hard to break. I use a metal mouthpiece but not essential.

Great product but may not last beyond a few months
Good trombone to play. Good dynamic range and very lightweight! (Needless to say, an innovate approach to cost-friendly instruments)Would have given five stars but four days after the thirty day warantee, the plastic on the slide catch broke off. Still usable, but the slide is now prone to damage from falling. All in all, I’ve had a lot of fun with this and have managed to progress fairly well with it.If it takes a while for it to break beyond functional use, I may buy another one, however if your looking for an instrument that’s going to last, it’s probably better to spend a bit more on a metal one

Amazing sound for the price
I got the P-Bone for my teenage daughter who was reluctant to be seen at school with a standard trombone. She loved the funky colours available and went for the black, also loved the fact it is so light it's no trouble to carry it round school all day. She is now playing Grade 4-5 pieces on it easily. It has a much quieter sound than the standard brass trombone (the neighbours love it and the teacher tells her to play louder). The slide was very "raspy" at first although it moves easily but this is improving the more she plays it. Perfect for reluctant teens, fashionistas and those who play a lot outside! We have heard horror stories about P-Bones cracking if dropped, but this one has survived so far!! Does need regular slide maintenance though, just like the brass instruments. Great fun, great tone and got one teenager playing again so can't be bad.

Pleasantly surprised!
Having played the trombone for 12 years in my youth, I was a bit skeptical of the plastic instruments. I saw this on a lightning deal and decided to see how it fared. I was pleasantly surprised with how well a plastic trombone played. It will never be able to match the more expensive, well made trombones but for a starter instrument, it will allow someone, particularly a child, to learn to play the instrument at an inexpensive cost. Sometimes when you buy a cheap instrument, the child will become frustrated with the quality of sound being made and give up. The pBone alleviates this problem.

Good Learning Instrument
Ive been a valve brass player for many years and had a go on trombone when I was a junior but my love for the Euphonium saw me playing Euphonium/Baritone for 20 odd years.Recently we have had a shortages of Trombone players in our band and ive been filling in the parts on Euph which is too heavy for the job so bought a PBone to see if I could handle playing trombone and I was very surprised how good they sound and don't sound like a cheap instrument. Also particularly good to learn on as playing a brass trombone takes a bit of time to build the arm muscles so with the Pbone you can play for a long time without getting a sore arm!The slide is excellent, Ive had a go on old Trombones with not perfect slides which feel like using a saw but the PBone slides effortlessly.
