Good performing HT at a competitive price point
Good little HT. Lots of features. Wish the menus were a little more intuitive and the manual easier to follow but otherwise a really good unit for the price. The additional RX bands are a nice addition.

X Band repeat is no good for satellites
PITA to program but worst of all, the cross-band repeat function of this unit is insufficient for satellite operation. Cannot hear yourself coming through on satellite downlinks and that's what I bought this specifically for. I guess it's fine for a general use HT though but so is a $35 Baofeng...

Wouxung is cheating
Bought this 9d plus version. The biggest misleading info about this unit is it having 900mhz. It doesn't have it. It'll show 900 numbers but actual frequency is in 700mhz.For example any 900mhz dialed on wouxung is less exactly 184.600mhz, so if it has 948.860 then the actual frequency is 762.260mhz. The unit is a lemon. Welcome to China. One star off for software. It doesn't have tab to slide windows sideways so u won't be able to program some of the options on the radio. Or u can do it manually reading instructions and punching it in one setting at a time. Wich is very frustrating.Star two off for squelch setting. It simply is no use at all.Star 3 off for screen. It is completely unreadable when light turns off.Star 4 off for very slow scanning. It's just too slow. Come on wouxun. It is $200 unit not a $20 baofeng wich has same scanning speed.Menu numbers in the manual don't match with numbers in the radio. For example number 42 in the manual is 48 in radio.Well other then that it's not bad but way overpriced for the way it is. Add $50 more and buy reputable yaesu or similar.
