We got this for my mother who has dementia to help her remember family members.For each persons' photo they tell her who they are and add a 10 second message. The audio isn't too bad if you speak firmly and enunciate well. If you make a mistake while recording you can do over, or even change an old message at a later date. I was afraid my mother might accidentally erase the messages but it isn't easy to do that. You have to press 2 separate buttons at the same time to record (instruction are insde the back cover), but if it happens you can re-do any of the messages

The batteries didn’t work. We couldn’t get the screw out of the battery compartment and had to pry it open. Replaced the batteries and it didn’t even work long enough to record one message.

Received damaged...w/dead battery.
