Outward Hound Squeaker Palz Plush Hippo Dog Toy, XL

This product has surprised me in so many ways. It has lasted much longer than the majority of the dog toys I have bought in the past. It has brought my dog endless hours of enjoyment. 🐾❤️

My jack russell is an aggressive chewer and hasn't tore up yet. It is his favorite toy.

This toy is so dangerous for dogs who eat toys they destroy! my 5 month old beagle puppy tore this up within 5 minutes - one small tear caused the entire toy to fall apart. horribly constructed - i would compare its construction to a tower of cards. the stitching holding it together were thick strings and once one piece tore it all unraveled. so disappointed, but also making this review to save someone elses dog potentially

I knew what a terrific time my four little canine "granddaughters" had with the "Hide-A-Squirrel" puzzle I'd sent them a while back, and was looking forward to giving various other Outward Hound products a try for the big Christmas box I'm putting together for them - couldn't resist this bright purple "Squeaker Pals" hippo! Have to admit I had a hard time choosing between this one versus the gator or monkey - especially since they all retail for $16.99 and saving over two bucks on Amazon was great (left room in "grandma's" budget to stuff even more fun into the box!) - and was happy to find it was even cuter in person than in the photo. The four squeakers are stitched into four separate sections - they're LOUD, and apparently keep on goin' even after they're punctured! - and at 19" long, 5" wide, I can just imagine a couple of the girls fighting over it in a tug of war!My one disappointment was that the description says the "plush head grunts with every chew"... not ours, at least I don't think so. You can feel there's a hard object inside toward the front of the hippo's mouth from which I assume the grunting sound is supposed to come from - and I'll admit I didn't personally try chewing it! - but no matter how hard I pressed, there was no grunting; possibly I received a defective one. Not a huge deal, and I doubt my son and his fiance will mind one less sound on what's bound to be a very noisy Christmas morning!January 2018 update: I've always enjoyed looking at the darling photos of their dogs that people sometimes include with their reviews; since I'm a technological dinosaur who has no clue how to upload (or download?) one, and since I wasn't there when our girls (April, Avery, Autumn & Anna) had their gift box opened for them (my son and his fiance live 700 miles away), maybe you'll allow an old lady to share this funny story! April & Avery are up in years now, apparently much preferring to sit on their humans' laps and be petted than to actively play, so they weren't overly excited about the new toys. However, much younger Autumn & Anna (from the same litter) were - my son told me that each time he took the tag off of one of the gifts, little Autumn would snatch it right out of his hand and run to her bed with it before her sister even had a chance! Her bed was overflowing with the big pile of toys, but I think Anna was just biding her time... their beds are right next to each other, so she let her sister haul everything over, then decided which ones SHE liked the best to wrangle over into HER bed! My son said it was hilarious - just wish I could've been there to see it! And I guess they didn't care that the hippo's head didn't grunt.

This toy has been well loved by the puppy. We did have to trim off the fuzzy hair at the top so it did not end up in the pups tummy.

This is our mini Goldendoodle's absolutely favorite toy - and he has many. We now have 2 of these and 2 of these in the alligator. He has used the original toy for about 4 months. He did eventually chew a hole in it but we sewed it up and he has continued to use for hours of entertainment and enjoyment. We highly recommend. dog loved it. all of those squeakers. loved it so much he destroyed it within the hour. not very durable

I purchased this product to stop the new barking habit of our bullmastiff. I really like the way it is designed with multiple warnings and multiple settings in order to be a reminder to curb the urge to bark. He has responded to it well and I would definitely recommend this to others.

My giant goofball dog loves his hippo! Squeakers are large and make a great sound. The fuzz is durable.Good toy!

This toy has so far held up. My two dogs play with the squeaker bit also play rih of war with it.
