These things are expensive...... BUT WORTH IT! I was planning on only buying the 3' piece made by the same company and I'm so glad I didn't... at the bare minimum I needed 6' for a basic project and the most I used was 4 of the 5 pieces for a combined length of 24'. I thought I was only going to use these for one or two parts of my home surveillance camera install, but I ended up finding it made a LOT of the tasks easier. Instead of walking across the attic joists to search for the camera hole opening through the insulation, I just pushed a few rods toward the attic door opening. When I went up, they were easy to find and right next the attic door opening. I used electrical tape to tape the ethernet cord to it and pulled it back down.I have a fishing tape reel that doesn't even compare to these. The fiberglass rods are kind of hard to describe, as they're stiff when you need them to be, but very flexible when you need them to be. In the back of my head, I have the mentality that when items that are stiff and you bend them (especially a significant bend), they will break in half or at least crack. But with the fiberglass rods, it doesn't break or crack and it won't... that's how they're designed.

Just what I needed

If you install network cables these are perfect. Much better than the red fiberglass poles sold at the big box stores.The rods haven't broken or the threads haven't been damaged on me in over a year of use. The glowing paddle tip makes quick work of drop ceiling T-bars. Can extend out 20-30 feet across ceiling tiles, and flexible enough to fish down a wall and pull out of cut out in sheetrock. I let a buddy borrow and he had me order him a set!

I can't say enough about this product. It has paid for itself twice over since I purchased it a couple of months ago. Faster and easier than a gopher pole or cable tossing. I primarily use it for under raised flooring and the glow in the dark green tip definitely helps. It has no problem with existing conduit, grounding wires or existing Cat 5/6 or video cabling. Make sure you tighten the connections when you put the pieces together. If you are a little off when aiming for your target and as long as the glow in the dark tip is touching the floor, then just twist the rod in the direction you want to turn it will roll over in that direction and get you back on track.

These babies really work. Bright in the attic with just a few minutes sun exposure. I like the slim design and bend-ability. My first set lasted about 5 years of heavy weekly use till I finally work em out. I expect to use my new ones just as long.

These were hard to find for a while and could not find them till I came across them in an alarm supply house and then of course on Amazon. Durable, flexible and do not shed fiberglass strands like others that get into your skin. Run low voltage cable for years and these are the best.Just wish the end for the ceiling grid was as durable.

This is the preferred fish kit for professionals. I have used this brand for years. Slimmer and longer than the competitors. The most important feature of this kit is the material. It is a resin versus fiberglass strand. This means more flex and no splinters.
