Akebono ACT1089 ProACT Ultra-Premium Perfect for 2007 Honda Odyssey
Replaced OEM fronts on my wife's minivan (2007 Honda Odyssey) in the summer of 2010. Don't have any problems. Stopping power is probably the same as with the original pads. At least I did not notice any difference. Not as dusty as OEM, but not "dustless". Dust is reasonably light in color. Quiet. Was afraid that they may be not as responsive as OEM while the rotors are cold, but surprisingly this is not the case. Stopping is smooth and even through the entire range of applied pressure. Basically these brakes don't bite at the beginning and then fade when you apply more pressure. Or wise versa - don't stop at the beginning and then unpredictably bite when more pressure applied. Installed them with Centric Parts 121.40064 C-Tek Standard Brake Rotor. Overall I am satisfied and planning to get Akebono for my MB when the time comes.Akebono ACT1089 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pad Set=======Update August 2012: so far so good, cannot complain two years later (after initial installation), they still stop the car just like the first day when I installed them. We probably put on more than 12,000 miles the last year, but I wouldn't be able to tell exact mileage. Some dust accumulates on the front discs but it's not as bad and as dark as from original brakes. Easy to clean up.No complains so far.=======Update June 2013: Cannot complain another year later. Another 12,000 miles. They are on the car for 3 years now.=======June 2014: I am not sure about exact number of miles, but judging by the service records it's about ~19,000 miles since the last update. At this point they are on the car for ~65,000 miles. The pads are still approximately 5 mm thick, but at this point looks like front disks are a little warp and develop vibration under certain braking conditions. Vibration doesn't happen every time I hit the brakes. Usually when car is rolling down hill at high speed and brakes are not heavily applied. I am planning to change my disks and I will replace the pads at the same time. I will replace them with the same brand/model pads.=======Update July 2016Replaced pads on both axles. Installed the same pads. They served me 6 years front and 5 years rear. With 12 to 15 K miles every year I cannot complain.I did switch to a different rotor model. This time I Installed Centric Parts 120.40064 Premium Brake Rotor with E-Coating and Centric Parts 120.40065 Premium Brake Rotor with E-CoatingI attached picture to display ware compare to the new one after 6 years. One thing I noticed is that internal pad wears slower than external on both sides and even on both axles. So in my case by the time the ware indicator would start make noise I am afraid the external pad would have no material left.

improved performance and feel
I have a 2009 Odyssey which had a soft and low pedal feel to me (although the van stopped very well in all situations). My dealer checked it out several times and said all was up to spec and I went on my way for 65k miles. I decided to replace after hearing a squeal under light braking and found the original pads to be about 50% worn (Florida driving is easy on brakes). These pads gave an immediate improvement in brake feel and raised pedal height to where it should have been when I bought the van. Braking performance is improved and less pedal pressure is required but we are comparing old to new here and some drivers (aka my wife) cannot tell any difference. I will use these pads on the wife's 2008 odyssey if she ever gets enough miles on it. This was an easy install and an instant break in - better than any brake job I've done. The roters looked fine and were not touched. If you have never worked on brakes before get a friend who has to check your work. This requires a torque wrench and a few other common tools.

no more grinding
Intalled them on a 2008 Touring. Since we bought the van new, we have had to take the van to the dealership 3 times over 3 year period covering 45k miles because we would have the dreaded grinding noise when the brakes heat up. Each and everytime the dealer will have to sand out the glaze from the pad and turn the rotor to get the brakes noise to go away. The stock rotor was not up to the abuse. The dealer will also admit that the van is too heavy for its brakes and will overheat them causing wraping and glazing of the rotors and pads....After doing so search, it seems that the Akebono pads coupled with Centric Premium rotors will fix the problem, so I decided to give it a try. Nad so far after 2 weeks and 2k miles, I have had no issues with anymore noise or vibration. I do however, notice that the brakes do feel a little more sluggish when they are cold, requirng more pressure to stop. But it's not that bad and I actually feel more safe because I no longer fear hearing the grinding noise made by the OEM pads. The price is good. The whole setup with pads and 2 rotors cost about $150. One rotor at the dealer will cost $150. My local TirePros charged $97 to install and bleed the fluid. Much better than having to take the car to the dealer every year.

The pads are some of the best you can get but my package did not come with replacement clips and barely had enough grease for all four pads. Pads are 5 stars on their own. Lower dust and solid stopping power.

Solved a noise and vibration problem
Solved a noise and vibration problem I and two sons had on three Honda odyssey’s from 2011 to 2014 models. We all love the vehicles, except for excessive brake noise and vibration. The vehicle uses discs but the vibration was like an out of round brake drum. Lots of grinding noise. The Honda dealer reported that this was a common complaint, but Honda refused to do anything under warranty, insisting that the cars were up to factory specs. We replaced the front discs with cryo-treated metal discs and these ceramic pads. None of the three cars have since reported any noise or vibration. Cumulatively the three cars have been driven about 150,000 miles since replacement. Five stars!

2014 Honda Odyssey perfect fit, these come with grease and clips and but the brackets. Brakes are quiet and have as good, if not better, stopping power. They also didn't fade while driving through the mountains at all. Will be buying these again.
