PHLUR Fragrance Discovery Set (2025) - 8pc Perfume Sample Set (2 mL Ea)

​I ordered this because I kept seeing the hype around Phlur on social media and needed to see if the reality matched the viral reputation before committing to a $90 bottle. Spoiler, it does! I was worried about triggering a migraine, as I'm sensitive to some perfumes. These are well crafted, sophisticated, and didn't trigger a migraine. I didn't notice any weird dry downs either. ​ ​Strawberry Letter is my absolute favorite of the set. It’s a burst of candied strawberries with a warm, sophisticated dry down. It doesn't feel syrupy or juvenile; it feels very high end. Perfect for a day out with my bestie. I understand why everyone raves about ​Missing Person & Vanilla Skin. They settle into beautiful, intimate skin scents after about 4-5 hours. Missing Person is a great unisex option that smells like clean skin. ​Mood Ring is a bright, fruity sugar trip, while Father Figure has a unique creaminess that is very unique. ​These aren't scents you need to drench yourself in. I got strong projection for the first few hours before they became a pleasant skin scent, and the scent definitely lingers on clothing until laundry day. ​ The $40 price point is perfect to test 8 different profiles. Each sample bottle has enough for 4 or 5 full day wears. It really helped me to see how they react to my specific skin chemistry. The presentation is vibrant and youthful making it a great gift, but an even better personal test drive to avoid a blind-buy mistake. These hit both gourmand and skin scent profiles. 8 samples for $40 is absolutely worth it. Now I have to decide which one I'm ordering first.

I would definitely buy this set if you want to see which ones you really like. I tested each of the scents and ended up buying the bigger bottles of the fragrances I truly enjoyed. I even bought their body oils!!! So far my favorites are “Missing Person” and “Soft Spot”. I wear the missing person body oil and spray the soft spot perfume and get non stop compliments all day!!! 10/10 highly recommend.

I like the fact that I can try all of the fragrances without buying a large bottle. Even when something smells good to me it doesn’t necessarily smell good when applied to my skin. Not all of these fragrances are for me but I have found several I like

I bought these small sizes to try the fragrances out. Let’s be real, $99 for a full size Father Figure is spendy and I wanted to see how I liked the scents and how long they lasted. I like all of the scents but strangely, they all sort of smell similar to each other in some way. They don’t last as long as Chanel or Valentino but they last a bit. Now that I’ve tried them, I can’t justify buying a full size, large bottle.

It was fun to try these out. My favorites were Father Figure, Missing Person, and Soft Spot. These scents were very comforting, unique, and not offensive. I also liked Mood Ring. All of them last pretty long on the skin and clothes, except maybe Missing Person, which is a more intimate scent. The size of the bottles is small, but you get enough to try out the scents multiple times. I ended up buying a full bottle of Father Figure edp and Missing Person body oil.

As someone who likes light and inoffensive scents that don't grab attention this set is not for me. I was intrigued by this brand because I once scanned a perfume by them and it was rated as 'good' on the Yuka app so I thought the ingredients would be 'clean' and wouldn't give me a headache. I was wrong! if you are sensitive to perfumes like me then I wouldn't recommend these. For reference I enjoy light scents like Jo Malone or the Aqua Allegoria collection. Here is my review of each of these (this is how they react on my skin, they could smell great on you) Golden rule: very sweet, strong, sour, plasticy, heavy and headache inducing. Fragratica says it smells like Paradoxe. Strawberry letter: This one straight up smells like those strawberry erasers I had as a child. It's artificial and sickly sweet and turns a bit sour on my skin after a while. I did not like this. Rose whip: This is the perfume I enjoyed the most because it's quite understated. I smell the rose, it smells natural, there is also some powdery-ness to it. More of a mature scent and something I'd wear at night. It smells comforting to me. Father figure: I don't see coconut listed on the notes but it smells like coconut to me. It's unique and sweet and I don't mind smelling it but it is not for me at all. Mood ring: I don't see green apple listed but this smells quite bright like a crisp green apple. Fruity and sweet. Again it's artificial smelling to me but it's not that bad. I think this would suit a younger woman. Soft spot: I can smell vanilla immediately, but there is a sharpness that I do not like. It's also powdery. It gave me a headache and I had to wash it off. Missing person: this is probably the only scent that could be unisex in my mind. It has a musky, masculine vibe. This is probably one of the lighter scents too. I have to go way up to my skin to smell it properly. I do not like the name. Vanilla skin: this is very sweet, very vanilla. If you like gourmands then you'll like this one. Overall, I liked rose whip the most but probably won't purchase it as it is probably best for cooler climates and evening wear. I am still on the hunt for an everyday, light and natural scent with clean ingredients that won't give me a headache.

I loved it! every scent was good. I love samples like this because then I can purchase the bigger sizes of the ones I like. The scents lasted for a while. They all smell really good.

Don’t waste your money. They smell awful. I was expecting some beautiful essential oil smells but what you can expect is an awful chemical smell with a tinge of something artificial. Oh, when you try to return, you find out they don't take returns so you were stuck with these beauties. Mine are going in the Goodwill box or in the trash.. I don’t usually leave reviews this bad but this one deserved it.
