I'm new to having a real telescope that actually works, so it's going to take some time to learn all of the ins and outs, but so far I am extremely happy and excited about this purchase. It is great quaility for the price. Everything seems well made and very stable. That being said, it took some time to assemble it, but scanning the code and watching the video was super helpful. I was amazed at how clearly I could see the leaves in the top of the tree, once I had it together, and I'm looking forward to actually using it for the night sky. I love the little knobs that fine tune things in and move it so precisely and slowly, so you can really tune into what you're trying to look at. I also like that it can be used during the day. It will work well for bird watching, especially in the nest. It comes with several lenses, colored filters, and a really cool attachment that holds your phone so you can take pictures of what you're seeing through the telescope.

hope to use it more often. very nice for something simple

Is a little hard to use if your a first timer like me you have but overall have been able to see stars and moon really nicely. This telescope works well So far everything is fine I don’t know how to use it very well since I am a beginner but it came with different lenses. My husband helped set it up. Nice looking with a reasonable price, stable with a heavy counterweight at the front to maintain balance. The whole thing is a bit heavy, but I can move it to the corner when not in use. The tripod height is adjustable. We installed the phone mount at the eyepiece to view the moon and stars on the phone screen, the image is sharp and clear, easy to record videos or take screenshots on the phone.

The HCL Dobsonian telescope is difficult to use because it's unhandy and fragile. The stand is made of plastic while the equatorial mount is metal. The phone attachment ads weight to the telescope so that it goes out of alignment. The finder scope is plastic and is cumbersome to look through. I was disappointed with the scope's performance viewing the moon. The focus needed to be adjusted constantly. The scope overall is useable but cumbersome due to the mix of materials and lack of balance.
